In Congress July 4, 1776 Praesent pretium lectus a dui. THE UNANIMOUS DECLARATION OF THE THIRTEEN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WHEN IN THE COURSE OF HUMAN EVENTS IT BECOME NECESSARY FOR ONE PEOPLE TO DISSOLVE THE POLITICAL BANDS... WE HOLD THESE TRUTHS TO BE SELF EVIDENT, THAT ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL, THAT THEY ARE ENDOWED BY THEIR CREATOR WITH CERTAIN UNALIENABLE RIGHTS, THAT AMONG THESE ARE LIFE, LIBERTY AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS. Hopefully you recognize these lines. They are from our countries DECLARATION of INDEPENDENCE. Our moment in history, when we as a people stood together and chose the path of freedom from outside control. To set our own path as a nation, and declare to all who will listen, we are free. Two quick thoughts to ponder as we celebrate this July: 1. Do you see the reliance our Founding Fathers had on our Heavenly Father? They use terms such as CREATOR, DIVINE PROVIDENCE and even NATURE'S GOD. We began this country by declaring We are ONE NATION UNDER GOD. 2. The only true freedom comes from a relationship with God. As it says in Acts 3:19, first is forgiveness of sin, then comes Seasons of Refreshing in the Lord. Freedom comes from a life not strangled by the past, guilt and remorse that follows sin. Freedom derives itself from the simple life of obedience. The final line of the Declaration of Independence states... AND FOR THE SUPPORT OF THIS DECLARATION, WITH A FIRM RELIANCE ON THE PROTECTION OF DIVINE PROVIDENCE, WE MUTUALLY PLEDGE TO EACH OTHER OUR LIVES, OUR FORTUNES, AND OUR SACRED HONOR. Reminding us again, this life of freedom comes from a firm reliance on God the Father and his divine providence. This July 4th, truly be free. God Bless Pastor Kirk 2
High School Youth Summer Series: The Beatitudes Through the summer, we will be looking through the Beatitudes which gives us a look into Christian living. In high school, it becomes harder to live for Jesus. There are new pressures and live events that can deter us from growing our personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Starting in July, we will begin the 5th Beatitude. Each Wednesday night of the summer consists of hangout time, group activity, short teaching, and small group discipleship. Special Events & Notes July 9th - Minneapolis Parent & Student Meeting - 10:15am in Cross Room (gather last minute information and answer any questions as we prepare to leave) July 12th - Sand Volleyball at Sioux Rec Park @ 7pm August 2nd - Pool Party at the Barton Home @ 7pm Message from the 9.12 Pastors! After one month, Noel and I have enjoyed spending time with the 9.12 students! We have seen relationships grow and their relationship with Jesus deepen through small groups on Wednesday nights and our church summer camps. As we continue, our desire to relate and disciple this age group grows! God is working in our lives just as much as the 9.12 students. P. Casey & Noel Antillon Middle School Youth July Series: "6 Keys to Surviving Summer" & "Becoming Me" Connect 6.8 will be meeting every Wednesday from 7pm-815 for the summer. We are tailoring our services to be more interactive and discussion based in order to build relationships and create an environment of selfdiscovery of God's Word. The first part of July we are finishing up our series about how our faith can become stronger in the summer instead of back tracking. The final two topics are "Keep Moving Forward" and "Get Into the Water". Then following that series we are beginning a series about the life of Joseph and how we can become who God has called us to be if we allow our circumstances to shape and mold us. The first two topics in this series are "Humbleness" and "Rejection". Important Summer Dates: July 9-Party @ Baker's 1-4pm (Bus Leaves BVAG @1230) 508 S.
