2 The Church of St. George, Minnesota WELCOME to... THE CHURCH OF ST. GEORGE A Letter from the Pastor Thank you to all our visitors, guests and extended family members for joining us this weekend. Call the office at (952) 473-1247 or email us at stgeorge@msn.com if you would like more information about the parish or to register. Today s Gospel selection from St. Luke on the Fourth Sunday of Advent presents the dramatic Visitation of Mary to Elizabeth, who, along with her son John (leaping for joy in his mother s womb) addresses Mary as the Mother of my Lord. The earlier Annunciation concerns the conception of a child, not by human propagation but by the power of the Holy Spirit. This Tuesday at Christmas, the account of the Nativity of the Lord is told. Both Conception (by the power of the Holy Spirit over Mary) and the Birth of a Savior (born of woman, yet true God from true God) unite to show forth the marvelous Trinitarian life of the first and perfect disciple in the Church. Mary is the faithful daughter of the Father whose plan of salvation calls her to become the New Eve. She becomes the mother of the Son with her holy and humble fiat. She becomes the spouse of the Holy Spirit Whose power brings forth from within her womb the true Savior of the world. Mary is daughter, mother and spouse in a beautiful Trinitarian fashion. She models the ideal Trinitarian life of our own Baptism for the rest of us who are also called to conceive in our minds, hearts and spirit a suitable place for the Savior to come and find His residence within us. Mary, reflecting the splendor of Trinitarian life, is the best and noblest human being to live in the Divine Will. May Our Lady intercede in her prayers for all of us who visit the Chapel of the Divine Will at St. George Parish, whether for daily weekday Mass or for Eucharistic Adoration, so that we, like her, may also live and abide in the Divine Will. active and valued participation in the life and mission of St. George Parish during the past year. As I prepare to experience my fifth Christmas here as your pastor, I am grateful to all who serve Christ and his Church in this parish community with love and generosity. Both our Anglo and Latino brothers and sisters come together in many special ways throughout the year to make this community of faith a true reflection of the Mystical Body of Christ here in. I do enjoy the daily rhythm of my schedule in the parish, never dull, often filled with surprises around the corner, in all things trying to keep an even and pleasant disposition. At times my schedule like yours seems overwhelming, but also very satisfying and fulfilling! Around major feasts such as Christmas, it is always a good reminder for us to take the some time to make room in the inn of our hearts to ponder the great mystery of God s life and grace present around us. We do not want to be so busy and self-absorbed with apparently major duties and minor details that we fail to recognize the real and glorious appearance of the Holy Emmanuel. May your Christmas gatherings this week bring to your families the Love of the Incarnate Lord Jesus made richly manifest in our waiting world! The parish staff joins me in wishing all our parish families a joyful Christmas and peace-filled New Year! My thoughts and sentiments, as Christmas soon arrives, inspire me now to give, on this final Sunday in Advent, my sincere expressions of gratitude to all of you: our parishioners, especially our many dedicated volunteers as well as our parish staff for your PARISH OFFICE CLOSED Christmas Week through January 1st Open January 2nd from 9am-1pm Fr. Mark Juettner Pastor
