2019 Summer Internship Application Who is the internship for? The discipleship ministries summer internship is designed for those interested in receiving first hand experience in children and youth ministry, working in a church environment, and investing in the next generation for the sake of Jesus. Application Process Program Dates: May 20th- August-5th Application Steps: Step #1 Step #2 Step #3 Step #4 Step #5 Download application from eastminster.org/hs and submit to student ministries office or by email to mjaderston@eastminster.org. Applications are due February 15 th. References will be checked and there will be a phone interview. One interview will be with the Director of Student Ministries, Matt Jaderston, and a second interview will be with the Student Ministries team. After your second phone interview, we will let you know whether you are a candidate for our internship. You will be notified no later than March 1st whether or not you are selected as a summer intern. All necessary hiring forms should be completed and returned to our office no later than three weeks after acceptance. You will be guided through this process.
Internship Info Salary/Stipend Salary/Stipend for interns is $3,000 Costs and Expenses You are required to have adequate transportation. You will receive a budget to use for events and spending time with students. Housing If you do not live in the Wichita area, we can assist in finding you a host home for the summer. We will need to know in advance that you do not have a place to stay. Who is the average applicant? Applicants should be at least high school graduates with some ministry experience looking to be mentored and trained before eventually going into full time ministry. While the intent to go into full time ministry is not a requirement, it is the ideal candidate. What is the minimum age to be considered for the internship? We require all candidates to have completed one year of college or be one year removed from high school. Can a married person do this internship? Yes. Can I work at the same time? Every financial situation is unique and we desire to be sensitive. We prefer the interns to not work because of the time commitment required. In unique circumstances, we will allow for a part-time job if it does not interfere with the time commitment. Can I still have an internship if I don t agree with Eastminster s theology? All interns must agree with what Eastminster considers the Essentials of Our Faith (eastminster.org/beliefs) in order to participate in the program. If you hold differences in certain areas please indicate during the application process. We have guidelines concerning the use of alcohol, smoking, drugs, and relationships with the opposite sex. Do I need to have my own transportation? Yes.
