Please e-mail Rebecca@paolalighthouse.com or call the church office, 294-2400 to volunteer to share devotions with the care home residents at Country Club Estates and Vintage Park. When: Every Tuesday: Sept. 13, 2016 thru May 2017 Time: 6:30-8:30pm Where: Lighthouse Church No childcare available. As a class member, you will spend time in personal study of the Scriptures each week. You will join other women in a small-group discussion of the lesson and learn from a teaching leader how the truths of Scripture can be applied to daily life. You will leave class with comprehensive lesson notes, which teach further on the passage you studied, and lesson questions for the following week. Study will be on the Gospel of John. THE LIGHTHOUSE BEACON Page 3 CELEBRATE RECOVERY Celebrate Recovery is a support ministry for anyone who has hurts, habits and hang-ups and would like instruction, direction, fellowship and encouragement to overcome them through the power of Christ. Celebrate Recovery meets every Thursday evening: 6:30-8:30 pm in the worship area with a fellowship time beginning at 6:00 pm. Child care is provided. For more information, contact Bob Zoller at robertzoller@kw.com or 913-285-3608. We had a great response to our Highway 2 Haiti bike ride that occurred on Saturday, July 30th. There were over 50 riders that came out and enjoyed the beautiful weather as well as a scenic ride through Miami County. Highway 2 Haiti Bike Ride All proceeds were being donated to our Lighthouse Water Project to repair broken wells. At this time almost $1900.00 has been raised. The next Beacon newsletter will be published on Thursday, August 18th. Deadline for all articles will be Friday, Aug 12th. We still have T-shirts available. If you are interested in a T-Shirt, please contact Ron Dowd (913-472-2085 or rldowd2@yahoo.com) to see if there is still one available in your size. The cost is $20.00. Lake Weekend at the Blachlys August 26 th -28 th Our annual lake weekend trip in the Ozarks. Sign ups are due by the 17 th. Cost and other details will be emailed out. Water Wars August 10 th 5:30-8:00pm It s the last Wednesday of Summer, let s have a war. Bring a towel and bring all your water guns. We will have quite a few games planned.

The plan shows how the many stories of the Bible make up one interconnected story God s story. The plan calls for reading between one to three chapters of Scripture a day from three separate chapters (i.e. the main storyline and key cross references), six days per week.
