Message Notes Anticipation Part Four Life Church Smyrna Sunday, March 12, 2017 10:30am Pastor Shell Osbon Amos 3:7 Indeed, the Sovereign Lord never does anything until He reveals His plans to His servants, the prophets. (NLT) Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? (NKJV) 1. You Can Anticipate Healing Psalm 103:3b He...heals all my diseases. (NLT) Isaiah 53:5 He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him and by His stripes we are healed (NKJV) Matthew 15:29-31 29 Jesus returned to the Sea of Galilee and climbed a hill and sat down. 30 A vast crowd brought to Him people who were lame, blind, crippled, those who couldn t speak, and many others. They laid them before Jesus, and He healed them all. 31 The crowd was amazed! Those who hadn t been able to speak were talking, the crippled were made well, the lame were walking, and the blind could see again! And they praised the God of Israel. (NLT) Matthew 8:5-8, 13 5 When Jesus returned to Capernaum, a Roman officer came and pleaded with Him, 6 Lord, my young servant lies in bed, paralyzed and in terrible pain. 7 Jesus said, I will come and heal him. 8 But the officer said, Lord, I am not worthy to have You come into my home. Just say the word from where You are, and my servant will be healed. 13 Then Jesus said to the Roman officer, Go back home. Because you believed, it has happened And the young servant was healed that same hour. (NLT)(NLT) 2. You Can Anticipate Blessings Leviticus 26 If you live according to My laws and obey My commands I will send you rain at the right time so that the land will produce crops and the trees will bear fruit. Your crops will be so plentiful that you will still be harvesting corn when it is time to pick grapes and you will still be picking grapes when it is time to sow corn. You will have all that you want to eat and you will live in safety in your land. I will keep my part of the covenant that I made with you. Your harvests will be so plentiful that they will last for a year and even then you will have to clear out what is left of the old harvest to make room for the new. (TEV) Matthew 6:33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need. (NLT) Philippians 4:19 This same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from His glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. (NLT) 3. You Can Anticipate Freedom John 8:31-32, 36 31 Jesus said to the people who believed in Him, You are truly My disciples if you remain faithful to My teachings. 32 And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free. (NLT) Romans 6:6-7 6 We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. 7 For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. (NLT) 2 Corinthians 3:17 For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. (NLT) The big idea: You can anticipate God continuing to work in your life!

Jesus healed everybody who was sick that day and He didn t even have to stand up to do it! 13 Then Jesus said to the Roman officer, Go back home. Because you believed, it has happened And the young servant was healed that same hour. (NLT) This man wanted his servant healed and he knew that Jesus didn t even have to make a house call! 2. You Can Anticipate Blessings 6

Deuteronomy 28:2 All these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God. (NKJV) Obeying the Lord leads to blessings overtaking you when you re not even expecting them! Matthew 6:33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need. (NLT) The keys to receiving God s blessings are to seek God s kingdom first and then to live right! 8
Shell Osbon: God s blessings follow obedience and they never follow disobedience. Philippians 4:19 This same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from His glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. 2 Corinthians 3:17 For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. (NLT) You can find freedom wherever you go because the Spirit of the Lord is already there! Galatians 5:1 Freedom is what we have - Christ has set us free! Stand, then, as free people, and do not allow yourselves to become slaves again. (GNB) You have been given freedom through Jesus Christ and it s important that you maintain your freedom! 12
