Today we are also celebrating our Back to School Bash! I know some of you might be bummed that summer is over, but now you can use all the awesome things you learned during this series back at school! Let s pray! Lead kids in Prayer GC_Lesson All series long I have been challenging you to learn ALL 66 books of the Bible! ELEM GC WK 4(1) If you can tell me ALL 66 books today, you will win a special prize. If you think you know all 66 books, come see me after service. Now let s dig into our playbook. Today we have Daniel s 3 friends versus King Nebuchadnezzar! Life isn t always easy. But it is easier when we have people we can really count on, just like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego had each other. Let s check out what happened! ELEM GC WK 4(2) Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were three buddies who stuck together through a tough situation. King Nebuchadnezzar ordered that everyone bow down and worship his statue, but the three friends wouldn t do it. They knew that God says we are only to bow down and worship the one true God! They stuck together and did what was right to honor God, and God kept them safe. Because they stuck together and honored God, King Nebuchadnezzar came to know God! Let s say the Need to Know as a team! o On God s Team, Players Stick Together! ELEM GC WK 4(3) We can stick together and make choices that honor God, too! Is there someone in your life that you can count on? (Wait for responses) We can do so much for God and His team when we stick together and show other s what it means to love one another. Our memory verse in Ecclesiastes 4:9-10a reminds us that: Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. o The game we are playing today is called Let s Stick Together! Throughout the game, you will need to stick the ball on your teammates vest. Refer to instructions on GAME CUE CARD. Let s play! GC_Game Now to help us practice sticking together, we re going to play a game! We asked you to come dressed up in your team colors! o Purple for the girls and green for the boys! Give a big high five to someone dressed in your team colors. ELEM GC WK 4(5) Way to go! The most important thing in this game wasn t the boys versus girls competition, it was about sticking together with your teammates. Just like the balls stuck to the players vests into that game, we can stick together as teammates! ELEM GC WK 4(6) Together, we will be able to have the courage to do the right thing and to remember that God has victory over anything that is hard for us! After all, when we re on God s team, we re all winners! We have one more game we re going to play! We are going to have a Back to School Freeze Dance When the music plays, move around and dance to the beat. But when the music stops, freeze in your best game day / back to school victory pose. You ll pretty much be freezing like you just scored a touchdown or slam-dunk! Let s put our game faces on! ELEM GC WK 4(7) GC_Announcements Great game faces for back to school! Speaking of going back to school, our August Family Mission is a Back to School Prayer! Encourage others as they get ready for school by praying for them! This week we re asking for you to pray for yourself! Let s pray that God will give you courage to shine a light, to help you do what s right when others are doing wrong, and to boldly tell others about the GOOD NEWS of Jesus! Lead kids in prayer Now let s celebrate back to school with some treats! ELEM GC WK 4(8)
