Prof. Harihar Nath Tripathi was a renowned political scientist, an academic leader by excellence and a social reformer by destiny. He always stood for the upliftment of educational standards at the university level and primary education, Sanskrit being his area of passion and learning. Prof. Harihar Nath Tripathi Foundation (A Society registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860) Registration No. 1355/2013-14 is established in memory of the great political scientist with the sole objective of continuing his mission in an organised manner and to fulfil his cherished dreams. His innovative ideas in the educational system are the primary objectives of Prof. Harihar Nath Tripathi Foundation. To establish, manage and run the educational institutions from the level of elementary education to the higher education for the academic development of the children. To ensure the participation of women and children in their welfare programmes being conducted by various departments of Union government, State governments and NGO s. To conduct awareness programme by way of exhibitions, camps, etc. to ensure the participation of citizens for the protection of environment. To organise the camps, exhibitions, workshops and training programmes for the promotion of agricultural production including the exhibitions of higher quality seeds. To provide the guidance and assistance to backward classes, minorities scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and marginalised groups to make them able to take the advantage of various welfare programmes being conducted by the government. To promote the activities amongst the Indian residents/citizens which may be helpful in eradicating the social evils, namely, addiction to drugs, dowry, smoking, untouchability and superstition, etc. To take effective steps to help the people at the time of natural calamities.

Professor Harihar Nath Tripathi, an educationist, a philanthropist, a political scientist by profession, was born in a small village, Belcha, in the District - Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. He completed his school education in the district Jaunpur and for further studies he came to Varanasi. He carried his M.A. (Political Science) from Banaras Hindu University and Acharya in Sanskrit from Sanskrit University. Prof. Tripathi has been recipient of many distinguished awards. During his Sanskrit education he became a close aide of Dharm Samrat Swami Karpatri ji maharaj. His own guru, pt. Ramprasad Tripathi was better acknowledged as Panini of Vyakaran. He then came into association with Pt. Gangadhar Mishra, the then Librarian of Sayajirao Gaikawad Central Library, BHU. Prof. H. N. Tripathi was also in close aide, association of many educationists, politicians, social reformers, civil servants, foreign ambassadors. He was amongst one of the close associate to: Late Shankar Dayal Sharma, Former President of India. Late Gaini Zail Singh, Former President of India. Late Mrs. Indira Gandhi, Late Rajiv Gandhiji, Former P.M.of India. Pandit Kamlapati Triapthi, Late Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna, late Shreepati Mishra, Late Bhagwat Jha Azad, Shri Narayan dutt Tiwari (all former Chief Ministers) Late ShyamLal Yadav, former Deputy Speaker, Rajya Sabha. Late K.C. Pant,Prof. Gopal Triapthi, Devendra Dwivedi, Prof. Veerbhadra Mishra, Mr. K. C. Mishra, Mr. D S Pandey, Prof, Dhakolia, Prof. Iqbal Narayan ( all Vice-Chancellors of BHU) till 1998 (January 7 th - the date of his death) were in constant touch with Prof. H N Tripathi. Prof. Harihar Nath Tripathi has been honoured for his academic contributions with many Distinguished Awards: 1.
