New Hope News May 15,2015 In Him we live, and move, and have our being. Acts 17:28 No person can know themselves until they see themselves against the backdrop of their largest vision of God s world. An environment which is of God s creation. There is a wealth of wisdom to be gained from the mountain top view of the far country. We begin to know where we live when we see God s vast creation. We begin to know who we are when we know God. God s ever urgent call to us is to recognize who we are and know where we live. He calls us to a vision of wholeness, which provides a grander perspective of His world and our part in His work. Worship is a purposeful withdrawal from the mundane activities of life in order that we may see the largest dimensions of life in clear focus. God reveals himself, unfolds His purpose, and makes His pathway known through worship. During the summer months we often find ourselves in the great outdoors of God s creation, exploring new territories, seeing new vistas and energized by new adventures. Let your adventures include adventures of faithful, prayerful, and festive praise through worship in the Lord s House. Give God the Glory in all things. Worship with others gathered in Jesus Name at His ever Expanding Table. New Hope Christian Church has in its heart a desire to reach out to those who are challenged by the stresses and distresses of life. On Monday, June 1st, we will seize the opportunity to make an impact in the lives of individuals who are homeless in the Oklahoma City area. We are scheduled to serve dinner at Refuge Fellowship in downtown OKC. We always welcome volunteers to assist in the meaningful project. If you would like to help, Contact Sean Shenold or the Church office.

Last year I organized the first Disciples Day with the Redhawks, then the AAA of the Houston Astros. Since that time the team was sold and OKC now is the home for the AAA team of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Therefore, we are having a Disicples Day with the Dodgers this year. Disciple choirs will be singing the National Anthem and your choir is invited to sing with others from around the area. If possible, we would prefer you use one check to pay for tickets from your congregation. I have already paid a deposit and am set up to pay the Dodgers, so this is why we ask that your checks be written to FCC-MWC with Disciple Day or Dodgers written in the memo portion of your check. Last year we had just under 200 Disciples come and participate and this year we hope to break 200. I hope your congregation will be one of those singing and enjoying the game with us. Grace and Peace, Mike Snell An information flyer and a sign-up sheet are posted on the bulletin board in the narthex. Tickets must be paid for before the deadline in order to qualify for the Disciples Day extras. 3

You are invited to a Grandparent Baby Shower for Steve & Jo Carolyn Chambers Sunday, May 31, 2015 2pm at New Hope Christian Church Hosted by the Evening CWF TELL Tangible Expressions of the Lord's Love I Don't Regret a Mile I've dreamed many dreams that never came true. I've seen them vanish at dawn. But I've realized enough of my dreams, thank God, To make me want to dream on. I've prayed many prayers, when no answers came, Though I waited patient and long, But answers came to enough of my prayers To make me keep praying on. I've trusted many a friend that failed And left me to weep alone, But I've found enough of my friends true blue To make me keep trusting on. I've sown many seeds that fell by the way For the birds to feed upon, But I have held enough golden sheaves in my hands To make me keep sowing on. I've drained the cup of disappointment and pain And gone many days without song, But I've sipped enough nectar from the roses of life To make me want to live on. ~by Howard Goodman (gospel singer)~ Workshops: SANE Child Advocacy Basket Weaving Social Media Bells Hearts for Care Connecting Your Mind, Spirit, and Body Prayer and Your Personality Zen Tangle Stewardship Lecto Divino Prayer is Play Day Spring Villa for Victims and Survivors of Human Trafficking Violence Against Women Kids Against Hunger 4
