New Hope News March 15, 2016 The events of Holy Week are punctuated with bench mark moments and experiences. In our faith tradition, one of the most cherished and blessed encounters is to have Holy Communion with believers, typically called Maundy Thursday. The Elders of New Hope Christian Church have been working diligently in preparation for the special service on Maundy Thursday. Seven of the Elders are preparing thoughtful meditations on each of the saying that Jesus shared from the cross. The service will begin at 6:30 PM on March 24th. This will be a night to remember as we all, Do This In Remembrance. Members and friends of New Hope Christian Church will want to be present for the heart stirring presentation of Because He Lives. Under the direction of Marietta Combs, Because He Lives, seeks to utilize a wide range of musical talent from within our congregation both vocally and instrumentally. We will be blessed on Palm Sunday as members of our Sanctuary Choir use their gifts to enhance our worship, praise and thankfulness during this Holy Season. Rev. Chambers will be speaking on the topic, Extreme Love. Invite your friends to share this blessed day of worship and praise. Easter Sunday, March 27th marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of New Hope Christian Church as a congregational body. New Hope was formed through the visioning process of joining Southwest Christian Church and Good Shepherd Christian Church. We can celebrate this wonderful accomplishment and the many blessings that we have received. So, let a year of celebration begin on Easter Sunday. The whole congregation is invited to share an Easter Breakfast which will begin at 9:30 AM in fellowship hall. We will have a wonderful time of fellowship around the table to connect with one another, nurture one another and serve one another. The Fellowship and Recreation department is furnishing breakfast and a free will offering will be received to help defray the expense. The breakfast will conclude at 10:15 as we move to prepare for worship together at 10:30 AM.

In preparation for Regional Assembly, each congregation in Oklahoma was sent a square of fabric and asked to prepare a quilt block that highlights the mission of their church.
