Please consider serving on the Board or one of our current standing committees. Our newsletter, Between the Lines, needs input and support from the entire membership, to remain as successful as it has been in the past and continue to evolve into a more distinguished publication in the future! I have enjoyed the opportunity to serve as your President for the past 3 years. It has been quite a roller coaster ride with numerous ups and downs, but I've grown and learned a lot about myself and others. It s been an honor to work with a fully committed board. My greatest satisfaction is seeing this organization move forward, and the best part has been meeting and interacting with you, the members... for that I give thanks! ~ Nedra Koller ~ Board Action Updates November 2015 Board Meeting: - Board agreed to sign contract with Composite Dairy Cattle Registry to handle all registrations for the ALCR - Decided to hold the Annual National Sale and any Junior Shows on separate days, in response to membership comments and complaints that there was too much going on in the same day - Agreed to continue $1500.00 allowance for all Regional Junior Shows (proposal-board approved) - Accepted the following updated Mission Statement: To promote and expand the American Lineback dairy breed through education, marketing, registration, as well as enhancing genetics - Agreed to notify membership of the upcoming Renninger Dispersal Sale March 20, 2016 Board Meeting: - Accepted an official Classification Scorecard for our breed - Approved proposal for a Regional Junior Show on June 24-25, 2016 in Quarryville, PA - Decided to put an advertisement in the upcoming Red Bloodlines Lineback breeder being featured (April 2016 Issue) - Welcomed Deidra Bollinger into the position of Editor of the Newsletter, Between the Lines - Budgeted $3,000.00 to the Promotion Committee Henry Ford once said... American Lineback Cattle Registry Composite Dairy Cattle Registry Update After assuming responsibilities for handling the membership, registration and transfer applications, we started working immediately! The first 30 registration applications, we had to transfer more than 1,000 animals to the new database, correcting invalid identifications, duplicate numbers and filling in missing information. We are striving for complete pedigree and correct identity information, without proper identification, an animal maybe missing out on genetic evaluations even though there are enough offspring. Additionally, correct parentage has an effect on the genetic evaluations of animals in your herd as well. Please bear with us and provide as much pedigree detail as possible, especially on your cows, that will help make our job easier and help with getting the registration papers back to you. Frequently Asked: What is the turnaround time for registrations/transfers: Depends on how complete the application is, making every attempt to add missing data and correct data in day after receiving documents and payment, we are working diligently to transfer animals from the old Lineback database to the new database, processing as quickly as we can. How can I help the process: Provide as much information to aid in getting ancestry identified, emailing pictures as paper photos do not scan well. If you have any additional questions, contact us! There will be activities for the Juniors to participate in during the evening of June 24, 2016. The class sponsorship is thirty ($30) dollars and a champion award is fifty ($50) dollars. You may designate your sponsorship support for a certain class or champion, pending availability. The Show Ring Sponsorship is any amount that goes towards running the show and making it a memorable experience for the Juniors. As a sign of our appreciation, sponsors will be listed in the show catalog, an upcoming edition of Between the Lines, the American Lineback Cattle Registry Facebook and announced on Show Day. We are extremely grateful for any assistance that you can provide!
