Service Prelude: Adult Bell Choir: Away in a Manger Joy to the World v. 1 & 2 Joy to the world, the Lord is come! Let earth receive her King; Let every heart prepare Him room, And Heaven and nature sing, And Heaven and nature sing, And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing. Joy to the earth! the Savior reigns. Let men their songs employ; While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy. (Please stand) Invocation In the Name of the Father, and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Congregation: Amen Confession/Absolution If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. Congregation: But if we confess our sins, God, who is faithful and just, will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Let us then confess our sins to God our Father. 2
Most merciful God, we confess that we are by nature sinful and unclean. We have sinned against You in thought, word and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved You with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We justly deserve Your present and eternal punishment. For the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us, and lead us so that we may delight in Your will and walk in Your ways to the glory of Your holy name. Amen. Almighty God in His mercy has given His Son to die for you and for His sake forgives you all your sins. As a called and ordained servant of Word I announce the grace of God to all of you, and in the stead and by the command of my Lord Jesus Christ, I forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. At our Council Meeting this past Thursday the thought of omitting offering envelopes was discussed. Because of the many people that only submit envelopes once a month and with the continuing increase of cost to have these printed it was brought up to have plain white letter envelopes put in the pews and members can fill them out before the service or if they want they could take a couple of them home to fill out. We would like your opinion on this if anyone would not like this idea or if you think this would be a good idea. Please let me know your thoughts.
