David s Ponderings: While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease. Genesis 8:22 Well I guess all of us have caught a little Spring fever over the last couple of weeks. The winter is almost over and we can begin to see a hint of green on the mountain side. We have had one of the coldest winters on record. I can t help but question all the global warming talk of the last few years. My take on this debate is summed up in this verse in Genesis. The Lord made this promise to Noah after he came out of the ark. That promise to Noah several thousands of years ago is still one we can hold on to as God s children. Oh don t get me wrong, I am a strong proponent of being a good steward of all that the Lord has given us. I just choose not to get too carried away with it because of this promise in God s Word! Spring is a time of new birth, a time to reflect on the great sacrifice of our Lord and to celebrate His resurrection. Maybe it is a time for you to purpose to begin to walk closer with Him or serve Him in a way that is out of your comfort zone. Whatever the Lord wants from us, let s purpose to do it. South Fork is full of people that love the Lord; let s strive to love Him and each other as well as our community more in this new season of life He has given us.
