St. Clare Bereavement Support Group lead by Geri Wiitala This group will meet the first and third Thursday of each month at 11 AM in the Parish Center. The next meeting will be on September 20. Geri Wiitala will be the group leader. Today's world presents many challenges, and these can often leave us confused, depressed, or feeling lonely or isolated. Losses in our family lives can cause us to experience deep sadness. People of all ages can attest to these feelings. St. Clare Church Men s Prayer Group Tuesday, September 18, from 7 PM to 8:30 PM The Men s Prayer Group follows a process that is prayerful and relaxing, but one that can lead to a deeper appreciation of the scripture. No special training or biblical knowledge is needed, only the openness to understand better what God is revealing through his scripture. The group meets on the first and third Tuesdays of the month in the classroom of the St. Clare Parish Center. If you are affected by any of these, or if you would like to support those who are, you are invited to attend this new group. The St. Vincent de Paul Society The St. Vincent de Paul Society s members reach out to the most vulnerable in our community by providing person to person services to those in need. This often includes making direct payments to landlords, utility and bio-fuel companies; providing other miscellaneous necessities; and by supplying food through our food pantry. We welcome hin to the St. Clare Catholic community. 40 Days for Life Fall Campaign Prayer vigils begin on Wednesday, September 26; however, the actual kick-off will take place on Saturday, September 29 at 8 AM. We will be meditating on the Joyful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary of Our Lady. Your prayers and support will help bring an end to abortion. Please share one hour of your time during the campaign to pray outside of Planned Parenthood. Those who are not able to join us for our public prayer vigils to consider pledging a Rosary for 40 Days to end abortion. All are invited. The Prayer Ministry is dedicated to those who request our prayers. To join this ministry or to send a prayer intention, please write in the Book of Intentions near the Baptistry or e-mail mbrockmann@cox.net. The Respect Life Ministry seeks to promote and protect the sanctity of all human life from conception to natural death. The ministry meets the Third Wednesday of every month at 8:30 AM from April through September, in the Parish Center. Rosary is said before the 8 AM Mass on the first Friday of every month year-round. All are welcome. The Hospitality Ministry provides a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere for members of the St. Clare community and visitors, as well as new parishioners, to meet and interact with one another in a positive way. This ministry provides opportunities to promote parish fellowship and, when necessary, to assist the Pastor with special events. Meetings take place the first Thursday of every month at 8:30 AM in the Parish Center. *The next meeting will be on October 4. All are welcome. The Helping Hands Ministry reaches out to those who are needy, elderly, sick or in need of bereavement consolation. This ministry meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 4 PM in the Parish Center. Enter through the door in the rear parking area. Please feel free to come to these meetings; new faces are always welcome. The next meeting will be on October 2. AA meets every Thursday night from 6 to 7 PM in the St. Clare Parish Center.
