Affirmation of the supreme authority of Scripture Leader: The infallible rule of interpretation of Scripture is the Scripture itself. All: Therefore, when there is a question about the true and full meaning of any Scripture, that meaning must be searched out and made certain by other places in Scripture that speak more clearly. Leader: The Holy Spirit, speaking in Scripture, is the supreme judge by whom all controversies of our faith are to be settled and all decrees of councils, opinions of ancient writers, doctrines of men, and claims of private revelations are to be examined.
