CHAPLAINCY Every year in the Spring Westgate hosts a Chaplaincy Training through an accredited organization. Our chaplains help with pastoral care as well as needs in the community and abroad. Congregational Care Chaplains Congregational Care Chaplains meet weekly to receive a care deployment for individuals from our congregation that are in the middle of a difficult situation and in need of additional support. Disaster Response Chaplains We occasionally deploy Chaplains to disaster sites, as needs arise, to help restore communities. Chaplaincy Meeting, Weekly Meeting Disaster Deployment as needed GROUPS Group Leaders Groups are a key building block of our church. We offer Groups three terms a year for 10-12 weeks each term. Our three Group categories are Sermon groups, Topical groups, and Activity groups. We also have Group leader opportunities within Westgate Kids, Students, College20s and Healing & Recovery. Training and support is provided for all group leaders. Host Homes Many times we have people willing to lead a group, but unable to host something in their house. Greeters Greeters are the first connection that our community has to the church. We make people feel welcome in the lobby, at the front doors, or as they are arriving curbside Connections, Sundays at 8:30am & 11am Kids Ministries, Sundays at 8:45am & 11am Student Ministries, Sundays at 6pm New Heart, Mondays at 6:30pm College20s, Wednesdays at 7pm (College age only) Ushers Help greet the congregation at the sanctuary doors with a bulletin, assist in seating people, and help collect the offering. Connections, Sundays at 8:30am & 11am Special Events Frontline (Parking Lot) Assisting in the organized filling of the parking lot and being the first, warm impression for our church. Special Events Sanctuary Care Walking through the sanctuary during the week and making sure the Kleenex are stocked and filling the seat backs with pens, envelopes, Connection Cards, etc. Connections, Weekdays from 10am-3pm Family Friendly Certification Required Age Requirement Background Check 7

Language & Translation Westgate offers language translation in our Sunday morning services. There are other opportunities to use your linguistic talents in other areas of the church. Kids Church, Sundays at 11am Spanish Translation, Sundays at 11am Special Events Thanksgiving Outreach Sign Language We provide sign language interpreters for the first service, both for worship and the sermon and for the Thanksgiving Outreach. Deaf Translation, Sundays at 9am Annual Thanksgiving Outreach 8

PRAYER Prayer is part of the DNA of Westgate. If you have a heart for prayer, there are many ways for you to join in the intercession of the ministries of Westgate Chapel. Men of Valor, Sundays (six week rotation) at 9am or 11:15am New Heart Prayer, Tuesdays at 6pm Prayer Meeting, Tuesdays at 7pm Student Ministries, Sundays at 6pm Missions Prayer Prayer Room, Open during office hours. Westgate Women of Prayer, Tuesdays 5-7pm & Thursdays 9:30am-11:30am Morning Prayer, Seasonally, contact the Church Office for details. LABOR Skilled In a church like Westgate Chapel, there are always needs for people with trade skills, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, sheetrock, security and alarms, etc. VBA Set Building in June Christmas Sets New Heart Place Unskilled Do you have a heart to serve individuals using your skills and abilities? We continually have calls from people in the congregation needing help with meals, cleaning, moving, small projects, and more. TEACHERS & ASSISTANTS EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT Nursery Giving a much needed break to a mom or dad so they can enjoy some adult conversation can be a life-line to a stressed parent or grandparent. Nursery covers infants through 2 years old. Kid s Club Providing safe and fun ministry to kids while parents are involved in other church activities is a crucial component of any church. Kid s Club covers ages 3-5. Nursery, Sundays at 8:45am & 11am New Heart, Mondays at 6:45pm Prayer Meeting, Tuesdays at 6:45pm Family Friendly Groups, varying days and times Preschool & Kindergarten (Ages 2-6) Help a preschooler experience God through relationship, fun Bible stories, and tasty fishy crackers. Hands on training with an experienced leader is provided in addition to bi-annual team building nights. Preschool, Sundays at 8:45am & 11am Elementary (Ages 7-12) 10

Help an elementary aged kid grasp the concepts of a relationship with God, the power of prayer, and the value of scripture in our lives. We offer two unique environments for Grades 1-3 and 4-6 built around a large group experience (with games, worship, and kid friendly message) and small group experience (where kids better connect to their leaders and peers). Grades 1-3, Sundays at 8:45am & 11am Grades 4-6, Sundays at 8:45am & 11am See Also - Kids Groups Special Connections Providing a quiet, safe place for children and adults with special needs who find our typical classes and services overwhelming. TECH & CREATIVE MEDIA It takes a detailed team to produce all of the elements of a service. Training is available, but an aptitude with computers is helpful. Positions are available not only for Sunday services, but for Kids Church, Student Ministries, College, New Heart, and others. Sound, Lighting, Video, and Media Teams serve in the Sanctuary on Sundays at 8:30am & 11am and at Tuesday Prayer Meetings at 6:30pm Kids Church, Sundays at 8:45am & 11am Student Ministries, Sundays at 6pm New Heart, Mondays at 6:30pm College20s, Wednesdays at 7pm Special Events TRANSPORTATION The wheels on the bus go round and round. We have opportunities from everything to using your car to driving the church van and bus. Bus We have number of ministries that utilize the church bus. Van The church has a cargo van that is used for a number of ministry opportunities. You would need a valid driver s license and qualify for our church insurance policy. Food Bank, Tuesday & Wednesday mornings Camps & Retreats (Childrens, Students, College, Senior Adults, etc) American Friends, Wednesday evenings Personal Vehicle There are many opportunities to bless someone with a ride to church on Sundays and during the week as well as other options. Motel Ministry, Healing & Recovery - Mondays at 6:30pm Motel Ministry, Food Bank - Thursdays at 10am WORSHIP MINISTRY As a church we value diversity through different generations and cultures. Help people engage in different worship environments. This can include leading worship, being part of the worship team, or serving as a band or orchestra member. 14 CITY SERVE A ministry of Serve Teams that love our community by meeting practical needs and testifying to the transforming power of the Gospel of Jesus. City Serve Teams Each Team is committed to serve a specific group of people or support a specific organization. The date, time, and location of ministry as well as frequency varies for each team. If you are interested in joining one of the following teams, contact cityserve@westgatechapel.com. School Serve The School Serve Team helps our local community school on a number of projects, such as landscape projects and as volunteers in our schools. Led by Pastor David Lundquist. Mobile Home Team The Trailer Park Team goes weekly to love on the residents of a local trailer park with acts of service and the love of Jesus. Support 7 Team Support 7 Team provides a care station for our city Police and Fire departments when tragedy happens within our community. Led by Mark and Michele Lundgren American Friends The American Friends Team invites International Community College Students to join them for a free dinner and conversation every Wednesday night. Led by Thomas West and Lydia Lundquist Weekend Food The Weekend Food Team procures and packages food that is distributed by local elementary schools to kids who do not have enough food to get them through the weekend. Led by Terri Lundquist and Jennifer Coons

Clothes for Kids Supports low income families in our community by providing wardrobes for elementary kids in need. Led by Janet Harman New Heart Teams Homeless Ministry Team This team has opportunities to both make lunches (soups and sandwiches) and minister to the homeless as they eat. They serve at the Food Bank weekly on Thursdays, and serve at the Lake City Homeless Shelter twice a month. Led by Janette Brooks Freedom Ministry Team This team ministers to inmates as pen pals. We also minister to the families of those incarcerated during the holidays through Angel Tree. Led by Brian Christopherson Motel Ministry Team The Motel Team ministers to the transitory population in low-income motels along Aurora Avenue in Edmonds. Led by Kay Ellis Food Bank Team We host a Food Bank every Thursday in the Commons. There are many opportunities Tuesday through Thursday preparing clothes and food as well as assisting clients.
