Welcome and Announcements Children's Message *Opening Hymn: All Things Bright and Beautiful #267 Presbyterian Hymnal Call to Confession Silent Prayer of Confession Rev. Evan Amo Corporate Prayer of Confession Holy God, you are our Good Shepherd, and the Gate to eternal life. While you showed us your love in your Son, we often fail to show his love to others. For we often show love out of convenience and partiality. Forgive us God, for your love is impartial and costly. Help us to love boldly, in action and truth, as we follow the Shepherd who lays down his life for his sheep. Amen CHURCH DIRECTORY APP If you use the church directory app you will notice a new improvement. The ios App that includes Groups and Birthdays just like the Android App has been released! SENIOR LUNCH BUNCH The Senior will be traveling to Mayflower in Concord on Tuesday, April 24 for the monthly meal. LPC tradition is to take the summer months off so May will be the last one till September. We want to give a HUGE thank you to Glenda Love for coordinating these monthly outings for over 20 years!!! Thank you for leading this ministry all these years!!! ORDER OF WORSHIP Changes we are instituting some changes to the order of our worship service. You ll see a few new things and some things may disappear as we work to make our worship together as uplifting and spiritually powerful as possible. The Birthday and Anniversary offering which has been taken up most Sundays for many years is designated for the Pastor s Discretionary Fund. This is used when someone with a legitimate need comes to the pastor or the church elders requesting assistance. Usually groceries are purchased or particular bills are paid using this funds. We are going to change things a bit and collect this offering on the first Sunday of each month. So if you have birthdays and anniversaries or other events to honor during May, please bring your offering on May 6 th. YARD SALE Boy Scout Yard Sale coming up on May 5 th. If you have items to donate, contact Bob or Stephen Remsburg or David Wallace. We are beginning to gather items for this big annual event. Help send the Scouts to camp and to Yosemite Park this summer. Assurance of Grace *Gloria Patri Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be. World without end, Amen, Amen. Anthem: Just As I Am LPC Choir Written by Charlotte Elliott, William Bradbury, Travis Cottrell, David Moffitt, Sue Smith; Arranged by Travis Cottrell Morning Prayer and the Lord s Prayer Tithes and Offering Musical Offering: Via Dolorosa LPC Choir Words and Music by Niles Borop, Billy Sprague; Arranged by Russell Solo by Tammi Remsburg Offering Response (Doxology) Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen. First Reading of Scripture: John 10:11-18 Second Reading fo Scripture: 1 John 3:16-24 Sermon: Bold Love: in Truth and Action Affirmation of Faith (from Confession of 1967): God s sovereign love is a mystery beyond the reach of humanity's mind. Human thought ascribes to God superlatives of power, wisdom, and goodness. But God reveals his love in Jesus Christ by showing power in the form of a servant, wisdom in the folly of the cross, and goodness in receiving sinful people. The power of God s love in Christ to transform the world discloses that the Redeemer is the Lord and Creator who made all things to serve the purpose of his love.
