Dear Parishioners and Visitors, As we transition into November, the Universal Church, at the close of the Liturgical Year, helps us to meditate upon the mystery of death, or rather, of life after death, life everlasting, the Communion of Saints, and the life of the world to come. The upcoming feasts of All Saints (see Mass schedule) and All Souls connect us with the peoples who have gone before us who are in the Kingdom, as well as with those who are saved and yet await full entry into the Kingdom in the process of purgation, a process that prepares the heart of imperfect love for the experience of perfect love in God, the way eyes accustomed to darkness need to adjust before gazing upon the sun. Not only will we celebrate the official Masses of All Saints and All Souls, both parishes will celebrate their annual Memorial Masses OLGC on Friday, Nov. 2 at 7pm, and at St. Ambrose on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 11:30. All are invited to attend. In addition to these celebrations, we are delighted to also be celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation on a combined total of 35 young people from both parishes at St. Ambrose on Saturday, November 3 at 6pm, to which anyone can come, even if you know no one who is being confirmed. The Confirmation Mass will suffice for your weekend Mass obligation. We likewise welcome Bishop Cunningham, who will preside. Congratulations to our Confirmandi, and please keep them in your prayers. God bless, Fr. Michael THE SACRAMENTS Reconciliation: At St. Ambrose Saturday: 2:30-3:15 pm or by appointment. (no confessions on Holy Days and on holidays.) Monthly on Sunday evenings at OLGC from 6:00-6:40 pm on 10/28, 11/25 & 1/6/19. Baptism: Baptisms may be scheduled during Masses or outside of Mass. For information and to schedule a date, please call the parish office. Marriage: Arrangements should be made with our staff at least six months in advance. RCIA Program: Persons wishing to explore the Catholic faith and receive the sacraments of initiation, please call the director of faith formation at the parish office. Pastoral Ministry: Parishioners confined to home who would like to receive the Eucharist should contact the parish office. 2 CALENDAR OF THE WEEK Saturday, October 27 4:00 PM Mass (At St. Ambrose) + Margaret Bombaski / John Sunday, October 28 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time 7:45 AM Mass (At OLGC) In Honor of St. Jude / Jim & Rose Fitzgerald 10:00 AM Mass (At OLGC) + Raymond Titti / Joan Spadine 11:30 AM Mass (At St. Ambrose) + Angeline Williams / Family 6:00-6:40 PM - Confessions at OLGC 7:00 PM Mass (At OLGC) Fr.
