Announcements, joys and concerns were shared. Doug Graves introduced the Pensioners that were present and said grace. A full course dinner was had by all with beautiful singing during our dessert time. We moved into the sanctuary and worship together, ending with a covenanting service for the Executive members; Marleen Soutar, Laurie Prak, Dawna English, Susan King, Jay Olson, Stuart Appenheimer, Diana Sung, Blake Field and Julie Lees Thank you to all who participated in the evening program Moved/Second (Julie Lees/ Sue King) that the agenda be accepted with additions. Moved/Second (Wendy Bily/ Stuart Appenheimer) that corresponding privileges be extended to all present. Past Minutes Moved/Second (Dan Kirkegaard/ Jim Short) that we approve the Minutes of the May 21 st (Twenty-First), 2013 (Two Thousand, Thirteen) Full Court Meeting. Executive meeting minutes for June 4 th (Fourth), 2013 (Two Thousand, Thirteen) was received for information. Discussion ensued about the Executive minutes being more transparent and clarification of some motions was given. It is suggested that an accountability report be given each month along with the minutes. The Executive will take all the suggestions under advisement for future reference. Business Arising from Minutes Advocacy Report: Blake, as chairperson of the Advocacy Planning, Oversight and Support Committee, updated the court on the current financial status of the Advocacy. The surplus of funds is expected to be used with the hiring of a new Part-Time Advocate, Tom McGregor. A video on the Presbytery s Advocacy ministry is available by contacting Blake.

Moved/Second (Sue King/ Neill McRae) that the Vancouver South Presbytery approve the sale of the church properties, at the amount of $1,754,000.00 (One Million, Seven Hundred and Fifty Four Thousand), and the renovations, repair, restoration, cost of $2,100,00.00 (Two Million, One Hundred Thousand) of the continuing church properties as outlined in the attached resolution {appendix 2013-2021A} of the Board of Trustees of Ladner United Church of the 15 th (Fifteen) day of June 2013 (Two Thousand, Thirteen) and concurred and approved unanimously by the Congregation of Ladner United Church on the 16 th (Sixteen) day of June 2013 (Two Thousand, Thirteen). Pastoral Relations New Business Moved/Second (Stuart Appenheimer / Sue King) that Vancouver South Presbytery approve the appointment of the Rev. Dorothy Jeffery as ¼ (Quarter) time Minister, increment category E at St. Stephen s United Church, Ladner United Church Pastoral Charge, effective September 1(First), 2013 (Two Thousand, Thirteen) to June 30 (Thirty), 2014 (Two Thousand, Fourteen) with the following terms: (pro-rated for 10 months): Salary $8,433.99 (Eight Thousand, Four Hundred and Thirty-Three) Housing Allowance $3,904.29 (Three Thousand, Nine Hundred and Four, Twenty-Nine Cents); Basic Telephone $571.80 (Five Hundred, Seventy One, Eighty Cents); Continuing Education $ $280.00 (Two Hundred and Eighty); Total: $13,190.10 (Thirteen Thousand, One Hundred and Ninety, Ten Cents) Moved/Second (Stuart Appenheimer / Dan Kirkegaard) that Vancouver South Presbytery disband the Joint Search Committee at St. Stephen s U C with thanks for their diligent work. Truth and Reconciliation Process: Maggie brought forward a motion and discussion was had on the communication around the event. Moved/Second (Maggie Watts-Hammond/ Stephen Chambers) that Vancouver South Presbytery encourage churches to send as many people as possible to the walk on September 22 nd (Twenty Second). That by region, congregations might wish to arrange to have one joint service at a church in the community to serve those who cannot walk, and that clergy be encouraged to lead their congregations on that walk and that a letter be sent to the Conference asking that all congregations in the Conference be encouraged to find ways for members of their churches to attend the service and/or walk on September 22 nd (Twenty Second), 2013 (Two Thousand, Thirteen).

Page 2013-2022 Vancouver South Presbytery(VSP) FULL COURT MEETING June 18, 2013 @ St Stephen s United Church (U C) Conference Executive Report: Jay updated the court on the May Conference Executive meeting expressing her joy from the wisdom and discernment from the two Youth and Young Adult representatives on the Executive. With the large Bequest of money given to the BC Conference, Jay explained how the money will be used including refusing any operating funds for BC Conference from the General Council at this time, thereby relieving the financial cutbacks of other Conferences. Jay closed her report with a Poem, My Fellow Swimmers. Spiritual Care Network: Wendy expressed our kind farewell to Michelle Slater, Doug Graves, Brian Thorpe and Rick Taylor. A prayer of Thanks for these people was offered. Moved/Second (Sue King/ Julie Lees) that we adjourn the meeting. Eric Hamlyn closed the meeting with a prayer. {appendix 2013-2021A} RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF LADNER UNITED CHURCH, A CONGREGATION OF THE PASTORAL CHARGE OF THE UNITED CHURCH OF CANADA KNOWN AS LADNER-ST.STEPHENS UNITED CHURCH, PASSED BY THE SAID BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF LADNER UNITED CHURCH Meeting at the Village of Ladner, Municipality of Delta, British Columbia, on Saturday, the 15 th day of June, 2013 The meeting was chaired by Susan King, and acting as secretary of the Board was Joan Rogers. The following duly elected members of the Board of Trustees, constituting a majority of the members of the Board were present: Susan King, Joan Rogers, Claire Maynard, Jim Short - the minister of the Pastoral Charge, Matt Rogers and Jon Jessiman. The undersigned does hereby certify that the following extract of a portion of the minutes of that meeting, duly certified by the Secretary of the Board of Trustees, is set out below and that it is a just and true copy of a resolution duly passed by the Trustees of Ladner United Church Congregation, and part of the Ladner/St. Stephen s Pastoral Charge, at that meeting of the Board of Trustees duly held for that purpose at Ladner United Church on the 15 th day of June, 2013. Concerning the properties registered in the name of The Trustees of Ladner United Church and/or the individual names of the members of the Board of Trustees at the time such properties were purchased by the Trustees on behalf of the congregation of Ladner United Church. 1. WHEREAS the Trustees of Ladner United Church are the registered owners of the properties described as the continuing church properties and the sale church properties wish, subject to the approval of the Vancouver South Presbytery of The United Church of Canada, to sell the portion of its real property assets described as the sale church properties for the sum of $1,754,000.00. 2. WHEREAS the Trustees of Ladner United Church wish, subject to the approval of Vancouver South Presbytery, to have renovations, repairs and restorations undertaken to property on which the congregation currently undertakes its Christian worship and ministry, consisting of a church sanctuary and halls for these purposes 3. WHEREAS the congregation has undertaken a funding campaign during 2005 and 2006 and a sum of slightly in excess of $500,000.00 was raised by the congregation toward the cost of renovations, repairs and restorations of the continuing church properties has been approved by the congregation of Ladner United Church and is in the course of being carried out 4. WHEREAS Knoblauch Construction Services and RAM Construction Inc. agreed to undertake major renovations and repairs and re-building in accord with plans which have been prepared by architects engaged by the Leadership Council of the congregation and approved by the congregation 5. WHEREAS Knoblauch Construction Services or its nominee 0972483 British Columbia Ltd. has expressed to the Trustees and the Leadership Council of the congregation an interest in purchasing the sale church properties for the purpose of constructing town houses and condominium for the sum stated in paragraph 1 of this resolution, subject to the approval for such sale, subject to the approval of the Vancouver South Presbytery. Such sale would also be subject to the approval of the Municipality of Delta as to changes in zoning and applicable by-laws and an examination of the incorporating documents of KCS and 0972483 British Columbia Ltd. 6. WHEREAS KCS has agreed, subject to the approval of the Presbytery, to complete the renovations, repairs and re-building to undertake and complete on a revised basis totaling the sum of $2,100,000.00 THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT inasmuch as the Leadership Council has been keeping the congregation informed at periodic, regularly called congregational meetings at least three times annually since 2000 of progress concerning the renovations, repair and restoration, it seek on the 17 th day of June, 2013, the agreement for the sale of the church properties for $1,754,000.00 properties and its agreement for the renovations, repair and restoration of the continuing church properties for the sum of $2,100,000.00 and the approval of Vancouver South Presbytery thereafter. Secondly, the Trustees assert that no member of adherent of Ladner United Church is a party to the companies wishing to purchase any of the properties or the companies who will undertake the renovations etc. Thirdly, the Trustees assert that the provincially assessed value of the properties to be purchased is $1,248,000.00

Fourthly, the Trustees assert fair market value of the property to be purchased is $1,350,000.00 Fifthly, the Trustees assert that the shortfall between the proceeds of the sale of the church properties and the costs of renovations, repair and restoration will be met by the result of the 2013 financial campaign now underway. If those funds are not raised totally, i.e. $417,000.00, the congregation will seek further and final approval for a small bank loan to cover the balance. Sixthly, approval and consent for the initial phases of this project were sought and granted by the Vancouver South Presbytery. And in pursuance of the said resolution, the Trustees of Ladner United Church Congregation, we hereby apply to Vancouver South Presbytery for its consent to the sale of the church properties and the renovation, repair and restoration of the continuing church properties as outlined in the attached resolution of the Board of Trustees of the 15 th day of June, 2013 and concurred and approved unanimously by the Congregation of Ladner United Church on the 16 th day of June, 2013.
