Children in Worship We at Immanuel welcome and encourage the attendance of all children in our worship service. We also understand that children will behave as the children they are. They may not be able to sit as still as adults and they sometimes act or speak out during the worship. That is to be expected. However, children can sometimes cause a commotion which, if allowed to continue on, can be a detriment to the worship of others around them. We ask that you be sensitive to those times when your child s behavior calls for their brief removal from the worship area. A cry room is provided for those times. The Ushers or Elders will assist you in its location and use. We ve also provided Quiet Sacks that are located on the small coat tree in the narthex. These bags contain pictures and crayons that our children can use. Please return them to the tree when you are done with them. Children may be brought to the communion rail to receive a blessing. 1
The Third Sunday after Epiphany January 26-27, 2019 Lutheran Schools Week January 27 February 3, 2019 As We Gather Today we welcome to our church an honored proclaimer of the Word. Despite the rejection He often has faced over the years even from the people who knew Him best let us welcome Him today with open ears and open hearts. This preacher is like none other. The way He communicates the Word of God makes you feel that He knows the Bible inside and out and that s because He does! This proclaimer is none other than your Savior Jesus Christ. Much like He did in today s Gospel, Jesus stands among God s people to deliver the Good News of life and salvation. Unlike the neighbors in Nazareth, who ended up rejecting their hometown preacher, let us receive Him with glad and sincere hearts. School Secretary Needed: Immanuel Lutheran School is looking for a school secretary for the 2019-20 school year. Some training hours will be provided in April and May of 2019. This job will be 32 hours per week. It will be Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Beginning with the 2020-21 school year it will be Monday - Friday with 40 hours/week. Limited summer hours.
