Lord Jesus, King Of All Nations, remember me in Your kingdom! Be an instrument of God s will. Fr. Rustia Live in My Truth and respond with your heart having no other gods before Me Jesus Ask and listen intently in the silence of your heart. Fr. Henryk Kociolek Lord Jesus, Thy will be done in me. N Contrition 1

Prayers Of Contrition Prayer is conversation of the heart with God, and it should be habitual. Maria Valtora Lord Jesus, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof; Say but the Word and my soul shall be healed. -N Contrition 2

ABBA Eternal Father cleanse me in the precious blood of Your Son, Jesus Christ, that my prayers may be purified before they ascend to Your divine altar. I offer You the Sacred Heart of Jesus, with all its love, all its sufferings and all its merits. To Atone for all the sins I have committed this day and every moment of my life. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be world without end. To Supply for the good I should have done this day and every moment of my life. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be world without end. To Purify the good I have done poorly this day and every moment of my life. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be world without end. N Contrition 3

Padre Pio Hearing Confession Act Of Contrition O My God, I am heartily sorry for having offended You, and I detest all my sins, because I dread the loss of heaven and the pains of hell, but most of all because they offend You, my God, who art all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of your grace, to confess my sins, to do penance, to avoid the near occasion of sin and to amend my life. - N Short Act Of Contrition O my God, because You are so good, I am very sorry that I have sinned against You and by the help of Your grace I will not sin again. Contrition 4

Psalm 130: From The Depths From the depths I call to you, Yahweh, Lord, listen to my cry for help! Listen compassionately to my pleading! If you never overlooked our sins, Yahweh, Lord, could anyone survive? But you do forgive us: and for that we revere you. I wait for Yahweh, my soul waits for him, I rely on his promise my soul relies on the Lord more than a watchman on the coming of dawn. Let Israel rely on Yahweh as much as the watchman on the dawn! For it is with Yahweh that mercy is to be found, and a generous redemption; it is he who redeems Israel from all their sins. The Confiteor I confess to Almighty God and to you my brothers and sisters that I have sinned through my own fault, in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done, and in what I have failed to do; and I ask Blessed Mary, Ever Virgin, all the angels and saints, to pray for me to the Lord our God. Forgive Me O my God, I love You above all things, With my whole body, mind, heart and soul, Because You are all good and worthy of all love. For the love of You, I love my neighbour as myself. I forgive all who have injured me, And ask pardon of all whom I have injured. N Contrition 5

Prayer of Contrition O my Jesus, I love you over and above everything! For the love of You I am sorry for all my sins. O Merciful Love, I ask pardon for the sins of the world. United with the Immaculate Heart of our Heavenly Mother, I ask pardon for all my sins and for all the sins of my brothers and sisters that have been and will be committed until the end of the world. My dear Jesus, united with Your Holy Wounds I offer my life to the Eternal Father according to the intention of our Sorrowful Mother. Virgin Mary, Queen of the world, Mediatrix of humanity, Mother of our only refuge and hope, pray for us! Contrition 6

Confiteor I confess to Almighty God, to Blessed Mary Ever Virgin, to her mother St. Anne to her most chaste spouse St. Joseph to Blessed Michael The Archangel, to St. John the Baptist, to St. John the Evangelist to the holy apostles St. Peter and St. Paul, to all the angels and saints, and to you my brothers and sisters that I have sinned exceedingly in thought, word and deed, through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault. Therefore, I beseech Blessed Mary Ever Virgin, Blessed St. Joseph and St. Anne Blessed Michael The Archangel, Blessed St. John the Baptist, Blessed St. John the Evangelist, the holy apostles St. Peter and St. Paul and all the angels and saints to pray for me to the Lord our God, for ever and ever. N Contrition 7

Special Act Of Sorrow Forgive me my sins, O Lord, forgive me my sins; the sins of my youth, the sins of my age, the sins of my body, the sins of my mind, the sins of my heart, the sins of my soul; my idle sins, my serious voluntary sins, the sins I know, the sins I do not know, the sins I have concealed so long, and which are now hidden from my memory. I am truly sorry for every sin, mortal and venial, for all the sins of my childhood up to the present hour. I know my sins have wounded Thy tender Heart, O my Saviour, let me be freed from the bonds of evil through Your most bitter passion my Redeemer. O my Jesus, forgive and forget what I have been. N Contrition 8

Precious Blood Prayer Ask My Father for as many souls as I shed drops of blood during My Passion. Our Lord to Sr. Mary of St. Peter Dear Jesus, moved by an impulse of love and with purity of intension, I wish to cover my humble labours with Your merits and bathe them in the supernatural gold of Your Precious Blood. I desire to consecrate my life to the saving of souls and the extension of Your Glory, and I beg the Heavenly Father for as many souls as You shed drops of Blood during Your Passion. Use this prayer for 28,430 souls in Purgatory or on earth. Contrition 9

Jesus said: Be merciful as your Father in heaven is merciful. Judge not, and you will not be judged yourselves: Condemn not, and you will not be condemned: Pardon, and you will be pardoned yourselves: Give, and you will have ample measure pressed down, shaken together, and running over; For the measure you deal out to others will be dealt back to yourselves. Why notice the splinter in your brother s eye, and fail to see the plank in your own eye? Be merciful and pardon Judge not, condemn not Give in ample measure. N How dare you say to your brother, Brother, let me take out the splinter that is in your eye, and yet you never notice the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite! Take the plank out of your own eye first, and then you will see properly to take out the splinter in your brother s eye. Luke 6: 36-38, 41-42 Contrition 11

For Sinners Eternal Father, I offer You the most precious blood of Your Divine Son, Jesus in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, for those in my own home and within my family. Contrition 12

Just As I Am Just as I am without one plea But that Thy blood was shed for me And that Thou bid st me come to Thee O Lamb of God, I come. Just as I am, Thou wilt receive Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve, Because Thy promise I believe O Lamb of God, I come. Contrition 13

ABBA, Father By Your Grace enable my filial abandonment, In Thy Mercy melt my heart within Thy Son s Sacred Heart, That I may be a fountain of Your Love for someone! Give that strength physical, mental and spiritual Thou seest I have need of: and may my prayer ever be: Thy will be done in and through me each day. N Contrition 14

All Your Sheep O Holy Father, By Thy power and with Thy Mercy, I implore You, Gather all Your sheep; Forgive them And let them return to Your Beloved home, Look upon them as Your children, And with Thy hand bless them. Contrition 15

My Lord Jesus, in view of my wretched sinfulness and Your Infinite Justice, teach me to fear Your Holy Wrath. Emmanuel In contemplating The agony of Your Passion, Teach us to love You in reverent, holy awe. Sanctify us with Your compassionate Mercy and Grace, Through Your shed blood and water on the cross. -N My Lord Jesus, in view of my littleness and the Infinite Grandeur of Your Goodness, teach me to be in reverent awe of Your Love and Mercy. Contrition 16

Prayer Of St. Thérèse Of Lisieux To The Holy Face of Jesus O Jesus, Who in Your bitter Passion became the most abject of men, a man of sorrows, I venerate Your sacred Face whereon there once shone the beauty and sweetness of the Godhead; but now it has become for me, as if it were, the face of a leper! Nevertheless, under those disfigured features I recognize Your infinite love, and I am consumed with the desire to love You and make You loved by all men. The tears which well up abundantly in Your sacred eyes appear to me as so many precious pearls that I love to gather up, in order to purchase the souls of poor sinners by means of their infinite value. O Jesus, Whose adorable Face ravishes my heart, I implore You to fix deep within me Your divine image and to set me on fire with Your love, that I may be found worthy to come to the contemplation of Your glorious Face in Heaven. O Jesus, through the merits of Your Holy Face, have pity on us, and on the whole world. (3 times) Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered. Let those who hate Him flee before His Holy Face. (33 times) Contrition 17

Contrition 18

MISERERE: PSALM 51 When the prophet Nathan came to David because he had been with Bathsheba. Have mercy on me, O God, in your goodness, in your greatness wipe away my faults; wash me clean of my guilt, purify me from my sin. For I am well aware of my faults, I have my sin constantly in mind, having sinned against none other than you, having done what you regard as wrong. You are just when you pass sentence on me, blameless when you give judgment. You know I was born guilty, a sinner from the moment of conception. Yet you love sincerity of heart, teach me the secrets of wisdom, Purify me with hyssop until I am clean; wash me until I am whiter than snow. Instill some joy and gladness into me, let the bones you have crushed rejoice again. Hide your face from my sins, wipe out all my guilt. God, create a clean heart in me, put into me a new and constant spirit, do not banish me from your presence, do not deprive me of your holy spirit. Be my saviour again, renew my joy, keep my spirit steady and willing; and I shall teach transgressors the way to you and to you the sinners will return. Save me from death, God my saviour, and my tongue will acclaim your righteousness; Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will speak out your praise. Sacrifice gives you no pleasure, were I to offer holocaust, you would not have it. My sacrifice is this broken spirit, you will not scorn this crushed and broken heart. Show your favour graciously to Zion, rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. Then there will be proper sacrifice to please you holocaust and whole oblation and young bulls to be offered on your altar. Contrition 19
