Thanking God that I don t have to understand His ways, I only have to know that He is in control! Hebrews 11:1-3, 8-16 is the Bible Passage. **Aug. 14 - Clay Winterboer s sermon title is "What I Have Learned About My Wife in 44 years of Marriage." We will compare what I have learned about my wife to Paul's final insights that he shared with Timothy. Scripture is: 2 Timothy 4:1-8 **Aug. 21 - Gwen Hoffmann s sermon title is "Inspired By the Holy Spirit". Change is a part of life, brought on by the choices we make or by things that happen to us. Changes in the world today make us scared at times and uncertain about the future. But Jesus through the Holy Spirit is always with us, sometimes leading, sometimes nudging and sometimes supporting us. Bob & Gwen will also provide special music! **Aug. 28-2 Timothy 3:1-5 // 2 Peter 1:3-7 Practicing Self-Control COMMUNION The final fruit of the Spirit is self-control. Practicing selfcontrol is learning to find our inner strength and power from God. It is not the same as will-power. It is an inner strength that comes from giving God control in the deepest parts of our hearts and minds.

(Hebrews 13:5) One tribe of Native Americans had a unique way bringing a boy into manhood. On the night of their 13 th birthday a boy would be placed in a dense forest to spend the entire night alone. He was blindfolded and taken miles away. When he took the blindfold off he found himself in the middle of the woods. By himself, all night long. No doubt it was a terrifying night for him. Hearing the sounds of animals he would imagine a wolf leaping at him in the darkness. Scorpions, snakes, and other dangers lurked behind every area of terrain. Finally, after what seemed like eternity, the first rays of sunlight would enter the forest. Looking around the boy would see flowers, trees, and the outline of the path that he could take back to his tribe. But also, to his utter astonishment, he saw a figure of a man standing just a few feet away, armed with a bow and arrow. It was the boy s father. He had been there all night long. That is exactly how the Lord God watches over us as a Father. He never leaves us. Even though we may not feel His presence, He is still there. There is no circumstance, no test that you might go through, no height, and no depth that can separate us from the Lord who is our provider, our protector, and our ever and always present Father in heaven. Continue to trust in the Lord who will not leave you nor forsake you. Pastor Dennis Bailey So let s lift up our voices for: Julie Chumbley Sue Prior The Rowedders Claudia Reed Verona Fuller Natalie Hanson Doris Hambleton Our Sympathy goes to: Kathy & Scott Richardson in the death of Kathy s mother and to Sherri and Gregg Hoaglund.
