And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14 The story is told of a kingdom where there was a young and handsome prince. The prince was searching for a woman to be his wife and eventually be queen. One day, as the prince was running an errand for his father, he passed through a poor village. As he rode through the village, he noticed a beautiful peasant maiden. Over the next several days and weeks, he began to make regular trips through the village and spent much time observing the young lady. As he watched and observed her beauty and gentle spirit, he fell in love with the young woman. But what could he do? He could command her to marry him, but he wanted a wife who married him out of love, not coercion. He could put on his best robes and show up at her door in an ornate carriage with a chest of gold and jewels, but how would he know if she was in love with him or just his splendor? Finally, he came to a solution. He took off his royal garb, put on common clothes, and moved into the village as a newcomer. He got to know the maiden Your place for weekly news and updates! We missed being together last week due to the snow and ice. It is always difficult to try and decide when the weather is too bad to have services. It is one of many decisions the elders have to make and it's part of the reason we continually pray for God to bless them with wisdom. I'm thankful for the godly men who lead our church family! Remember, we will use the One Call and social media to let you know about such changes so make sure you're on the list and following us! Because most people didn't get a bulletin last week, let me say again how much I appreciate Micah and Jami Busbey and the hard work they do with our education program. The Teacher Appreciation banquet was a nice way to say "Thank you" to everyone who is involved in our education program. We are certainly blessed here with some great teachers! Friends and Family Day is next week! Please be praying for good weather and inviting people to come and be with us. Plan to be here yourself for both services and the meal! It's going to be a great and encouraging day for our church family! -David Salisbury What Will You Do For Love? without revealing his identity. As he lived among the people, the prince and the maiden became friends, shared interests, and talked about their concerns. By and by, the young lady grew to love the prince for who he truly was and because he first loved her. As I read that story, I couldn't help but think about Jesus. The Prince of Peace left the splendor of heaven and moved into our village so that we might fall in love with Him - not because He made us or dazzled us, but because we love Him. It is incredible to think of what God did for love. But I also thought about us. What are we willing to do for those we love? What are we willing to give up to honestly know and love others? How far are we ready to go because we love the lost and want to see them saved? Can you put aside your privileges and lovingly humble yourself? -David 2 Corinthians 5:9 So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him.

Daily chores, weekly errands, monthly appointments, sports and leisure, and I m too tired from work, all compromise our children s spiritual needs. We must earnestly desire that our children go to heaven. That desire, then, must express itself in daily spiritual routines. No more excuses! Every day, our children need time that is dedicated to their spiritual development. I am aware that they can learn from our example all day long, but an example is no substitute for active instruction by a parent in spiritual things. Without faith it is impossible to please God. But to look to God as some sort of wishing star that might just possibly give me what I want is to fail to understand Him. All the obedience in the world is worthless without faith. The best I can offer God is still imperfect and the only hope I have is to trust in His grace and mercy. God desires that we trust Him first. Until we come to faith in God, nothing else matters.
