Order of Worship Prelude Jesus Provides Welcome and Announcements Call to Worship Psalm 146 1 Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul! 2 I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. 3 Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. 4 When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish. 5 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, 6 who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever; 7 who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free; 8 the Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous. 9 The Lord watches over the sojourners; he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. 10 The Lord will reign forever, your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the Lord! 2
Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee 3 WORDS: Henry van Dyke, 1852-1933 MUSIC: Ludwig van Beethoven, 1770-1827; adapt.
Behold Our God Who has held the oceans in His hands? Who has numbered every grain of sand? Kings and nations tremble at His voice, All creation rises to rejoice. Chorus Behold our God, seated on His throne, Come let us adore Him. Behold our King, nothing can compare, Come let us adore Him! Who has given counsel to the Lord? Who can question any of His Words? Who can teach the One who knows all things? Who can fathom all His wondrous deeds? Chorus Who has felt the nails upon His hands Bearing all the guilt of sinful man? God eternal humbled to the grave Jesus, Savior risen now to reign! Scripture Reading Isaiah 43:1-7 1 But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. 3 For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I give Egypt as your ransom, Cush and Seba in exchange for you. 4 Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you, I give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life. 5 Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the east, and from the west I will gather you. 6 I will say to the north, Give up, and to the south, Do not withhold; bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the end of the earth, 7 everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made. Prayer of Thanksgiving 5
O Great God O great God of highest heav n, Occupy my lowly heart; Own it all and reign supreme, Conquer every rebel pow r. Let no vice or sin remain That resists Your holy war; You have loved and purchased me, Make me Yours forever more. I was blinded by my sin, Had no ears to hear Your voice; Did not know Your love within, Had no taste for heaven s joys. Then Your Spirit gave me life, Opened up Your word to me, Through the gospel of Your Son, Gave me endless hope and peace. Help me now to live a life That s dependent on Your grace; Keep my heart and guard my soul From the evils that I face. You are worthy to be praised With my every thought and deed; O great God of highest heav n, Glorify Your Name through me. You are worthy to be praised With my every thought and deed; O great God of highest heav n, Glorify Your Name through me. Victory In The Lamb He will clothe the poor with crowns In the kingdom He calls theirs. He will raise them to the halls of heaven And release their earthly cares. And the hard times they will come; The black clouds they will break. But His riches come with morning sun, And they grow green fields of grace. Chorus So let all condemnation cease, Let guilt have no more claim, Let the devil lose all dominion; For the Lamb of God, He came! And the Lamb of God was slain! And the Lamb of God was raised! We will fix our wand ring eyes On the wonders of our Lord. By His sacred stripes we have been healed, Through His wounds our joys supplied. Chorus The strong ones and the weak Are the same under His blood. For empty handed all must come To receive His endless love. Chorus x2 7 Words and music by Wesley Randolph Eader, 2012.

The Lord Will Provide Though troubles assail and dangers affright, Though friends should all fail and foes all unite, Yet one thing secures us whatever betide: The Scripture assures us, The Lord will provide. The birds without barn or storehouse are fed; From them let us learn to trust for our bread. His saints what is fitting shall ne er be denied, So long as it s written, The Lord will provide. We may like the ships by tempest be tossed On perilous deeps, but cannot be lost. Though Satan enrages the wind and the tide, The promise engages: The Lord will provide. His call we obey like Abram of old, Not knowing our way, but faith makes us bold. For though we are strangers we have a good Guide, And trust, in all dangers, the Lord will provide. When Satan appears to stop up our path And fill us with fears, we triumph by faith. He cannot take from us -- though oft he has tried -- This heart cheering promise: The Lord will provide. He tells us we re weak, our hope is in vain; The good that we seek we ne er shall obtain. But when such suggestions our spirits have plied, This answers all questions: The Lord will provide. No strength of our own or goodness we claim, Yet, since we have known the Savior s great name, In this our strong tower for safety we hide. The Lord is our power; the Lord will provide. When life sinks apace and death is in view This word of His grace shall comfort us through! No fearing or doubting with Christ on our side, We hope to die shouting: The Lord will provide! Wednesday Nights WOMEN S STUDY: Starting on January 23rd, the women will begin a new women's study with Jen Wilkin's None Like Him. This is a systematic theology study through the incommunicable attributes of God, which should promote a reverence for God. Calvin said wisdom is knowing God and ourselves. This study focuses on knowing who He is and who we are so that we know how to approach Him. Please contact Lisa if you are interested in purchasing a book. This is an open study so feel free to invite friends. We believe this would be good for the teenagers of the church to attend as well. The women will meet 2 Wednesdays a month, typically the 1st and the 3rd. MEN S FORUM: The men will usually meet on the 2nd Wednesday night of each month. This will be a time to wrestle with and be sharpened by one another in discussion of topics such as conscience, social justice, divorceremarriage, vocation, and ordinances.
