Guess Who s Coming to Dinner is Back! After a year hiatus, Guess Who s Coming to Dinner is back. This event, planned for February 23 at 5:30 P.M., will allow you to open your home to other members of the congregation. Here s how it works: you can volunteer to be a host or participate as a guest. As a host, you will be responsible for preparing the main course and drinks. Guest will provide side dish, salad, or dessert. But the fun part is that no one knows who all the guests will be until they arrive that evening. It is sure to be a night filled with fellowship and fun. If you would like to participate and we certainly hope you will please sign up on the board in the narthex or send an email to Kim Ferrari by February 10. We will need to know if you want to be a host or a guest, how many you can serve if you are a host, and whether you have any food allergies or concerns so we can inform the host and other guests. New Adult Sunday School Topics The adult class meeting in the Common Ground room (1-4) will be discussing Restorative Justice for the next few weeks. Other upcoming topics include: secular songs relating to Biblical stories, hymns and theology, and peace and non-violence. Bible 101 Children ages 2 nd to 5 th grade Mark your calendar for the third Sunday of the month. We'll do lunch and meet following worship from 12 to 2 PM Sunday, February 17.

Announcements, continued Youth Brethren Beliefs Class 3/3/2013 A Brethren beliefs class for youth will be held on Sunday, March 3 rd from 12:30 to 3:30 PM. Contact Pastor Chris for more information. Offering Envelopes Thank you for using your offering envelopes whenever possible. It makes the job of the Counters and Financial Secretary a little easier. There are still a few unclaimed boxes of envelopes in the Narthex ready for pick up. If you don't have envelopes and would like some, please contact Jerry Anne Kines, our Financial Secretary. Cards for St. Jude s Ranch Emma Bachman is collecting used greeting cards for St. Jude s Ranch for abandoned and neglected children. They can be cards for any occasion, but not Hallmark, American Greeting or Disney (for copyright reasons). Only the front of the card is needed, but if you prefer to donate whole cards, Emma will cut them apart. 30 Hour Famine Interest? Oakton was going to host a district 30-hour famine event Feb. 22-23, but some churches have made other plans. We need to know whether to go ahead or cancel. Please contact Jan Fischer Bachman or Missy Burket asap if you (or your kids) had been planning to participate so that we know if we have enough people or not! Thanks! (For information about the event, see www.30hourfamine.org - it helps kids learn about hunger in the world and raises money for World Vision. Our youth have always enjoyed it!)
