This Summer, we had an amazing Creativity Camp, children are attending Camp Bays Mountain, and our youth are attending Junior and Senior High Assembly at Emory and Henry College because of your generosity and support! We look forward to a very fun Sunday for Back to School Sunday on August 5th. Each week this Summer, we are studying the teachings of Jesus. We look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday! This is a 7 mile out and back trail located near Roan Mountain, Tennessee that features beautiful wild flowers. It is a moderate trail, will be uphill to the top and then downhill on the way back! Dear Wesley I feel so blessed to have a wonderful church family. Many of you have been with me through my journey to become a United Methodist Deaconess Home Missioner for the past four years. You have encouraged me with classes, prayed for me during travels, helped care for Ben when I was out of town, and always cheered me on. And now that I am consecrated, you have given me kind gifts and a party to celebrate this achievement. Thank you Wesley, my cup overflows! God is Great! Thank you for your support of Creativity Camp. We served 54 Children, 31 of whom do not attend Wesley. It was an amazing week of art, music, poetry, dance and science. Worship was energetic and powerful. Thank you, Tony Sharp. A special thanks to Jim and Suzanne Stouffer for preparing our meals each night. Thank you to the 45 adult and youth volunteers that made this event a success and to those who purchased supplies, provided funding, helped with stage design and t-shirt logo and let us borrow instruments and props. T-shirts by CapTeeVation, Inc., decorations from Party Central, free meal cards from Barberitos. With your generosity, we sent 11 children to Camp Bays Mountain this summer! God is Good! Sunday, July 29th, 9:40-10:40 AM Fifth Sunday Family Event: Celebrate with Cereal For families with children of all ages. Join us for a cereal breakfast supplied by Children s Ministries in place of children s Sunday School classes. Bring a box of breakfast cereal to donate to Second Harvest food bank. This event will include a devotion and family games. For families who do not typically attend Sunday School, please consider attending Celebrate with Cereal to meet and enjoy fellowship with other families! Sunday School and Kids in Action/Children age 5 4th grade The Sunday School hour begins at 9:40. Kids in Action is dismissed from NRG Worship and Traditional 11:00 Worship. July Communion Offering: Appalachian Trail Chaplaincy This is a mission of Holston Conference. The mission is to show the love of God to fellow hikers, while providing spiritual and other support along the way. This year our Chaplain is Minta Ray trail name Blueberry. She is our first female Appalachian Trail Chaplain. You can check out her blog and her fabulous photography as she treks along the AT at: http://appalachiantrailchaplain.com/blog/! Funds are used to provide food, new boots, all those things a thru-hiker needs for the time on the Trail. This ministry is funded solely through donations. Make your check out to Wesley, put AT on the memo line. Wesley s Boys and Girls Club Workdays Tuesday, July 31st, 4:00-8:00 PM Friday, August 3rd, 10:00 AM-2:00 PM This is our third annual workday. We will help clean, spruce up, organize closets and maybe build some shelves You can go to the Club anytime during these hours and help! Holston Annual Conference Missions Update Total offering of $61,335 was received for Change for Children, a fund that is split and distributed annually to aid children s ministries in Africa and Holston communities. A Total offering of $110,191 to continue providing shelter and education for Our South Sudanese Brothers and Sisters in Exile. The annual Hands-on Mission Project concluded with four trucks packed with 8,586 kits valued at $215,681 and bound for Africa. Collected by local churches, the food, health, home and school supplies will support children at Ishe Anesu in Zimbabwe and United Methodist schools in Liberia. Food Item for Good Samaritan Ministries Our food item for July is Canned Meat Our goal is: 300 Please place in the designated containers in the Narthex and Tower Area by June 30th. Monthly Mission Emphasis Items We will be collecting school supplies for children in need within our community. Paper, notebooks, pencils, pens, crayons, etc. Please place in the drop off bin by July 31st.

July - No activity this month. Have a great summer! Wednesday, August 15th - Outing to the Edward Cox House in Bluff City. This historic site is the founding site for the Methodist church in Tennessee. Bishop Francis Asbury held his first bible conference in Tennessee here and visited again another four times. Owned and restored by the Holston Conference on Archives and History of the Methodist Church, it is now a Methodist Shrine. Details to follow.
