Jesus Christ is our Lord, Emmanuel! The Christmas and Epiphany season are a beautiful opportunity for family memories to be made, times of clear joy for God s blessings to be shared and for the reminder that Jesus Christ is our Lord, Emmanuel! Within the space of 30 days we have celebrated Jesus entrance in a lowly manger, His baptism and naming and the celebration of the Wise Men from the East. As each event occurred it was clear, Jesus Christ is special and offers mankind the greatest gift the world could receive!! We share this message as the promise fulfilled by God so that all of mankind can receive the greatest gift of salvation. It is clear that God offers us the opportunity to have a personal relationship with Him since Jesus Christ is our Lord, Emmanuel! In this new year in our relationship with Jesus Christ, He wants our relationship with Him to influence and guide our relationship with our Brothers and Sisters in Christ. For a new year allows events in the past to be forgiven like Jesus Christ forgives us and a new day to dawn upon us so Jesus Christ desire for unity, not division can inspire us to fullness and freedom. This comes only when we believe and live with the understanding and demonstration for others that Jesus Christ is our Lord, Emmanuel! With many changes at the end of last year, may our Lord, Emmanuel enables each of us to see change as the opportunity for freedom and building the church for His Glory. In order that we may continue in our mission given by God to spread the Word of God, proclaim the love of Jesus Christ, welcome all in the forgiveness that only comes from Him and build our community of faith with the blessing of God, saying to the world Jesus Christ is our Lord, Emmanuel! To help spread this message, please contact me via email (pr.elcnalc@gmail.com), come see me during office hours (Monday 9:30-11:00AM, Wednesday 9-10:30AM) or go to this link OR (https://goo.gl/forms/perj3phtxfo4jjuc2) and help build our community that proclaims, Jesus Christ is our Lord, Emmanuel! Yours In Christ, Pastor Darian L. Hybl

IT'S TIME!! It's that busy time of the year. It's time to mark your calendar and plan on attending the upcoming Altar Guild Workshops. THEY ARE: --Post-Christmas Cleanup Saturday, January 6, 2019 at 11:30AM All members of the Altar Guild are asked to attend at least one of these workshops. We especially need help at the Christmas Workshop and the Christmas Cleanup. ATTENTION CONFIRMANDS AND SPONSORS Have you been trying to think of a great activity for you to do together? How about a team decorating the Christmas tree for the holidays or a team to take down the tree and ornaments? The clean-up of the tree will take place on Saturday, January 6, 2019 at 11:30AM. Friends of the Altar Guild are welcome to join us. Any questions, please call Donna Berardinelli at 724-744-4130

Youth Group Jr./Sr. Youth Group and W- DOGS will now be joint. Below is the updated schedule. Youth Group & W-DOGS Events 1/13 4:00PM-6:00PM Epiphany Party @ ELC Weekly text reminders & devotions are being sent. If you and your friend(s) would like to attend youth events, please let Dan Plance, Youth Group/W-DOGS Leader, know at 412-965-8904 or plance92@gmail.com. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Bad Weather Policy Cancellation of worship and congregational events seldom occurs, BUT when EXTREME winter weather makes for unsafe conditions it may become necessary to do so. In the event of worship or other cancellations, the decision will be made 2 hours prior to the scheduled time of an event. The recorded message on the church phone (724-327- 2190) will provide notice of any cancellation AS WELL AS radio KDKA 1020AM and KDKA TV will be notified to provide notice of a cancellation. In any bad weather, we urge our members to use good old-fashion common sense when coming out to worship and other events. While God desires our praise and worship, God certainly doesn't want us to risk our safety and become injured in any way.

Mutual Ministry Minute The Mutual Ministry Committee has recently been reconfigured with Dana Hillman, Karen Kuczek, and Ron Smith being new representatives. In recent years, our congregation has experienced several significant changes. While adjusting to these modifications, there has been something lost among our members. As Christians, each one of us is to promote the Gospel and live a Godly life. There have been breakdowns in communications and differing perceptions regarding how to achieve this goal. As we discuss and share our thoughts for arriving on the same page, this committee is charged with supporting and encouraging the pastor in his ministry with ELC. Mutual Ministry wishes to have your input. This is too important not to share appropriately if our church is to grow. We will be privileged to hear your concerns and hopes, and seek to use them to strengthen our mission together. Please contact any individual committee member, or the collective committee, with your thoughts, concerns, and hopes. Dana Hillman Karen Kuczek Ron Smith addana.hillman@gm foxglove066@comcast. Murrysville, PA 15668 Mortgage Burning PO Box 684 Murrysville, PA 15668 2202 Woodmont Dr Export, PA 15632 Following the worship service on December 12 th a mortgage burning ceremony was held recognizing the end of payments for the current sanctuary. Pastor Held provided a little historical background and brought a picture of the ground breaking which took place in 1997. Shown are Pastor Held, Mack Flood and Pastor Hybl at the ceremony. Following a reception, parishioners were invited to help decorate the church for Christmas.
