welcome to word of life student ministries! We are here to change your life. That s a pretty bold statement to make, isn t it? It sounds like either a sales pitch or some gimmick, doesn t it? How can any program change your life? As a matter of fact, a biblical program based on biblical principles can! It isn t the program but God s Word that makes the difference. God s Word changes lives and brings hope. Those principles can be more easily applied with effective tools - that s where the program comes in. At Word of Life Student Ministries, we are not primarily interested in entertaining people but in energizing them to become obedient Christians living a dynamic life. But how do you do this? How can you get there? Are there steps to take? We believe that to become an obedient Christian, you start with... BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES (GOD S WORD) Foundation of truth Then you build upon that your... BIBLICAL PHILOSOPHY (GROUP OF PRINCIPLES) This is done by grouping your principles together along with your knowledge of a particular subject. On your philosophy you build your... BIBLICAL PURPOSE (GOAL) This is what you want to accomplish. Then you build a... BIBLICAL PROGRAM (GAME PLAN) These are tools and procedures that will accomplish your goal. Finally - all this develops... BIBLICAL PEOPLE (GODLY PEOPLE)

How Word of Life Student Ministries Works! Why not take a few minutes and look at the following pages, which explain the Word of Life Student Ministries program and how it works. We challenge you to apply the same biblical principles that we share with students to your life. principles Matthew 28:19-20 Colossians 1:9-11; 2:6-7 2 Timothy 2:1-2 Note that we base our entire program on God s principles found in His Word. philosophy purpose Reaching youth whose needs constantly changes with biblical truth that never changes! The youth culture changes and we adapt our program to the various age groups without compromising the biblical principles. QUIET TIME Quiet Time builds a personal relationship with God. PURPOSE To develop intimacy with God through prayer and systematic daily reading of the Word with personal application. PROGRAM We cover the major portions of the Word of God in six years. PEOPLE 1. Total integrated spiritual growth program 2. Stimulates unity in your group 3. Provides accountability 4 Encourages family devotions 5. Encourages personal study, not just reading a commentary

Quiet Time with Commentary Quiet Time for Students

SCRIPTURE MEMORY PAK Provides an effective PRINCIPLE Psalm 119:11 Psalm 1:2 Joshua 1:8 Colossians 3:16 PHILOSOPHY Internalizing Scripture to connect to life s needs and problems is essential for a growing, obedient Christian. PURPOSE The systematic memorization of Scripture will help a believer to sin less, witness more, and encourage others. PROGRAM The 24 verses in the Scripture Memory Pak are drawn from the Bible Study (Biblical Teaching and Biblical Living) lessons. Each verse card has a question to show the connection between God s Word and life s needs. We use our Creative Discipleship Reward Sheet to show how our program works. One sheet is kept by the discipleship leader and one by the student, so that he or she can see their progress. PEOPLE Sin less. Witness more. BIBLE STUDY Lifelines is a tool used to engage in Bible Study with a doctrinal emphasis. PRINCIPLE 2 Timothy 2:15 Joshua 1:8 2 Timothy 3:16-17 PHILOSOPHY Provide students with a vehicle for study, meditation, and instruction from the Word of God. PURPOSE To train youth to accurately handle Scripture, resulting in obedience and a life prepared for service. PROGRAM Bible study occurs at the weekly Word of Life meeting through interaction by the student with both the Bible teacher and the Student Lifelines. PEOPLE Provide a solid handle on the basic Bible doctrines Address contemporary issues Encourage life application

doctrinally driven life changing READING BOOKS encourage students through godly examples, missions and contemporary issues. PRINCIPLE Philippians 3:17 1 Corinthians 4:16 2 Timothy 2:15 Philippians 4:8 PHILOSOPHY Through the godly example and exhortation of gifted writers, we are challenged to live biblically. PURPOSE To counteract the media impact of the world and open the heart of a student to a life of Christian service. PROGRAM Read three books -- two recommended by Word of Life and one missionary or Christian biography of your choice. The entire New Testament counts as any two books. PEOPLE Strengthen convictions. Become open to missionary service.

cultivating students of influence CHRISTIAN SERVICE MANUAL designed to encourage student involvement in evangelism and discipleship. PRINCIPLE Matthew 28:19 1 Peter 4:10 Hebrews 10:24 Acts 1:8 PHILOSOPHY Engraft the Word of God in students lives to the point that it is demonstrated in their compassion and care for others. PURPOSE Direct and equip students in various avenues of serving God through individual and group evangelistic and service projects. PROGRAM Each student is encouraged to participate in Christian. They may choose from: Individual Christian Service: 23 different opportunities Group Christian Service: 29 different opportunities PEOPLE Develop a habit of serving God by serving others. Sense the joy that comes in Christian Service. See students leading others to Jesus Christ.

TEENS INVOLVED developed to help teens identify and use their gifts and abilities for God s glory. PRINCIPLE 1 Peter 4:10 Romans 12:11 1 Corinthians 4:1-2 1 Corinthians 12:4 Colossians 3:23-24 PHILOSOPHY Since God has given every believer gifts, talents, and abilities to serve Him for His glory, we need to lead, help, and encourage youth to find and use them for this purpose. PURPOSE Encourage and help Christian teenagers gain experience in presenting their gifts and abilities to God for His honor, glory, and service. PROGRAM Students may choose from 21 categories of involvement for either Senior High or Junior High. Most students are involved in three or four of the following categories: Individual Preaching - ten-minute sermon Creative Writing - prose/poetry/gospel tract Teaching Children - teach a Bible story or character Special Presentation - ventriloquism, puppets, chalk art, etc. Musical Presentation - vocal, instrumental, keyboard Group Drama Puppets Quizzing Musical Presentation small vocal, large vocal, choir, instrumental, vocal and instrumental, specialty instrumental PEOPLE Spiritual growth: Discover gifts, talents and abilities. Enjoy fellowship with other youth. Experience new avenues of ministry.
