I pray these lines find all going well. Know that the kid in me is so excited that school is almost over, summer vacation was always my favorite time of year, specifically the very beginning of vacation so there was so much play time ahead! Hoping kids still enjoy it as much as I did! We celebrate today the feast of the Holy Trinity. We celebrate perfect love, we celebrate the very crux of all love. Love is always about the other. Corinthians clearly states what love is. Jesus listened to and did the will of His Heavenly Father while on earth. He was also led by the Spirit in His life. Whenever God speaks in the New Testament it is always directed to Jesus, not Himself. Again its always about The Other. Any and all of our relationships crumble and are never what they could be when one is self-centered, :When my needs come before others. Marriage is the poster child of love (this being stated by a single priest. LOL) In a proper and healthy marriage the focus is always upon the beloved. A catch phrase should be I want to do what makes you happy! I know, I know oh father, you re soooooooo single. Again I m not stating reality but I am stating the way it SHOULD be, the way love is supposed to work. The Trinity invites us into this love which they share, it is our proper place to live in this love It was the intention from the beginning. Enjoy the week focusing on the knowledge that YOU ARE LOVED!!! God Bless You All Love, Fr. Mike Sr. Gertrude Trudy Tanner, OP It is with sadden hearts we share that Sr. Gertrude Trudy Tanner, OP passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2018. She was serving in Garden City Kansas at the time of her death. However she was a big part of St. James for over 20 years. While here she was in charge of Adult Catholic Formation, which included RCIA. A Seminole, A Gator and A Bull: Three Men from Different Paths Ordained as Priests for the Diocese Three men. Three different paths. A Seminole, a Gator and a Bull all received the same call to serve God and his people as priests. On May 19, Bishop Gregory Parkes ordained the three to the priesthood before nearly 1,000 people at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle. (Link to the video here.) The newly ordained priests: Father Kyle Bell, Father Lou Turcotte, and Father Tim Williford were all raised in the Tampa Bay area. Today is certainly a day that we celebrate with great joy as we ordain these our sons and brothers to the sacred priesthood. What an awesome gift and blessing this is to our diocese during this 50th anniversary year, said Bishop Parkes. The congregation was jubilant and frequently broke out in applause to show their love and support for the new priests who have touched so many lives already through their ministry that has been flourishing over their years in seminary The Parish Office will be closed Monday, May 28th in observance of Memorial Day. Please have a safe and Happy Holiday! From, Father Mike, Deacons Jim and Mark and the entire St. James staff and volunteers

Mrs. Lorraine Parsons Month of May is so special for me ( both personal and our catholic faith and traditions). During our youth night the teens helped with organizing the rosaries which was a big help for me. We talked and shared our traditions in our family on how we pray. I remember growing up praying the rosary with my grandmother in our native language ( Tagalog). Each one of us has a special way of praying as an individual and as a family. I would like to thank those who came to the youth night: Christina Kessel, Lauren and Meghan Davis, Michael Licari, Cierra Huthnance, Zelinda Giambanco, Tom Parsons and Cathi Kessel. The CARNATION SALE was a big hit again this year. We were not able to sell at the 1pm as we were out of flowers. Thank you so much Mrs. Judy Licari for doing this for the youth group and for making all the mothers smile as they receive flowers on Mother s Day. We made a profit of $274 which will go towards our youth funds. Thank you to ALL who bought flowers and to all who helped sell at each mass; (Mrs. Judy Licari and son Michael Licari who were at all the masses). 4:00-Giambanco sisters-giada, Zelinda, Ylena, and Chloe, the Huthnance sisters(cierra and Summer) and Gwen Roth. 8:00am Christina Kessel, Mrs. Amity Sowash and her children Vivian, Vincent and Brett, Mya Skinner, and Gwen Roth. 10:00am- Dominik Licari, Armani Figueroa, Marcus Lallanilla and the Keyser brothers ( Owen and Ian ).
