Mt. Zion Church of Ontario South Campus Statement to Read before Leading Responsive Reading Acts 9:1-9 (NASB) Good Morning! Our theme for 2019 is Living for God-Sized Results! Join me in reading the refreshing teaching from Jesus, regarding living for God-sized results. Minister Congregation Minister Congregation Minister Congregation Minister Congregation Everyone 1 Now Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest, 2 and asked for letters from him to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, both men and women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. 3 As he was traveling, it happened that he was approaching Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him; 4.and he fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? 5 and he said, Who are You, Lord? And He said, I am Jesus whom you are persecuting, 6 but get up and enter the city, and it will be told you what you must do. 7 The men who traveled with him stood speechless, hearing the voice but seeing no one. 8 Saul got up from the ground, and though his eyes were open, he [d] could see nothing; and leading him by the hand, they brought him into Damascus. 9 And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank. 3

ANOTHER CHANCE III Ephesians 1:15 23 Pastor Kelvin Aikens A-4 (Our Identity) Attract with Love Attract the unchurched with the love of Christ (John 13:34-35). Arm with the Truth We are to Arm the unchurched with the Truth of God s Word (John 8:31-32, 7:17). Affirm with Faith We are to Affirm them in their Faith in Jesus Christ (2 Cor. 1:24; Gal. 4:14). Animate with Hope Once they are Affirmed in the Faith, they will become enthusiastically hopeful realizing the Word of God is true and their salvation is sure (1 Pet 1:3, 3:15). Key Statement: Paul prayed that God would take the churches who read the letter to another and much higher dimension of ministry. 1. Paul prayed they receive the Spirit Who will give them the wisdom to know God (v. 17). 2. Paul prayed their mind be opened to see God s light revealing the hope of their calling (v. 18). 3. Paul prayed their mind be opened to see God s light revealing how rich and wonderful the blessings are that He promised them (v. 18). 4. Paul prayed their minds be opened to see God s light revealing the greatness of His power at work in them who believe (v. 19). Personal : Lord thank You for another chance in life. Thank You for providing me with the powerful vehicle of prayer. It is my way of communicating with You anywhere, anytime, and in any position. Thank You for those like Paul and Jesus the Christ who practiced intercessory prayer, thus showing me how important it is to pray for others. And thank You Father God for giving me the assurance that You do answer each and every one of my prayers. Thank You for the wisdom to know You; the hope of Your calling; the richness of Your blessings; and the greatness of Your power at work within me. Lord, let me not take Your blessings for granted, but please, let me use them for Your glory and the building up of Your kingdom. Show me how, where, and when I should minister to Your people. Help me stay focused on pleasing You in all that I do, so You can take the ministry You ve given me to the next level. I live to love and to serve You in all that I do. In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen. 8
