St. Peter Parish From Greg Ostdiek, SJ Cambridge, MA I am a Jesuit currently studying at the School of Theology and Ministry at Boston College. I grew up in Ohio, with my parents, and a very slightly younger twin brother. I graduated from the University of Dayton with degrees in mechanical engineering and English. I then joined the Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer, with a nuclear propulsion subspecialty. I served 13 years in a variety of positions, culminating as the Executive Officer of USS Dextrous, a mine countermeasure ship in the Fifth Fleet. I resigned my commission in 2009 to enter the Society of Jesus. I ve been in the priest formation program for the last 10 years. I studied graduate philosophy at Fordham University, taught high school physics in Chicago, and now I m at BC. This September 15th I will be ordained a transitional deacon at St. Ignatius Church. I am very happy to be joining St. Peter s to learn about parish ministry. Thank you to all of the staff for welcoming me. Please say hello when you see me. I look forward to meeting you all. It is full of events that are as topical today as they were thousands of years ago. Studying this divine story of the journey home will give us insight into the universal characteristics of human psyche and soul as well provide us clues into our own inner journey. No prior knowledge of the Pentateuch is necessary. All materials will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own Bible, along with your curious mind. Please e-mail Olga.Turcotte@yahoo.com or call the Parish Office to participate. The group is limited to 20.
