Page Three St. Charles Borromeo Church December 16, 2018 From the Desk of Padre José.. Gaudete Sunday! We are almost there, but we are not there yet. We are invited on this third Sunday of Advent to rejoice. The readings today remind us of rejoicing because the presence of God is always there for us. As we are fast approaching our Christmas season, in less than two weeks, let us take some time today to be thankful for our journey as a family of faith. May the rejoicing invitation from our readings today move each and every one of us to be people of gratitude and people of shared gratitude. Let us not forget to acknowledge with gratitude to the Lord the wonderful things He is doing for us, and let us not forget to share that story with someone. As we hear again from John the Baptist, we approach the Lord with humility. May the call to rejoice and acknowledge God s blessings bring us closer as a parish and as a Church. Please be assured of my gratitude to serve you and to be here with you at St. Charles. It has been a wonderful and rejoicing journey of faith and trust. May we continue to acknowledge God s blessing to each other. And let us continue to be Gaudete people. Fraternally, Fr. José P.S. Please note the different times noted in our published calendar for the different times for Reconciliation and for the coming Mass schedules.

Page Five St. Charles Borromeo Church December 16, 2018 Safeguard the Children REPORTING ABUSE/MISCONDUCT It is important to communicate your concerns if you observe anyone interacting with a child in an inappropriate manner. Parents, family members, teachers, clergy and all who work with or are responsible for the care of children need to remember that speaking up is one of the most important things they can do to protect not just their own children, but all children. Voicing your concerns is critical to protecting God s children. Any incident of abuse or misconduct should be immediately reported. For a copy of the complete VIRTUS article, Are We Communicating our Concerns?, please visit http://www.la-archdiocese.org/org/protecting/pages/virtus-current-online-articles.aspx. Are We Communicating our Concerns? ( Estamos comunicando nuestras preocupaciones?), visita http://www.la-archdiocese.org/org/protecting/pages/virtus-current-online-articles.aspx.
