Happy Sunday, Team Grace! From Father Kirby A"er a whole series of holy days, we return now to Ordinary Time. The fes8ve white color is replaced with green, a symbol of hope and growth. This reflects the growth and development that should be happening within our souls during this liturgical season. During Ordinary Time, we hear again the basic teachings of the Lord Jesus and are invited once again to follow him. This weekend, as a country, we honor the memory of Dr. Mar8n Luther King, Jr., and the many civil rights leaders who named injus8ce and helped bring about a reform in our country. This weekend, we are all invited to deepen in our apprecia8on of the dignity of every human being, regardless of race or creed. Please note that in honor of the holiday the Parish Office is closed and we won t have public at the parish on Monday. This past week, I resumed my regular teaching du8es at Belmont Abbey College. Some of you might recall that I sat out the past couple of semesters while we ve been organizing things here in the parish. As we move forward, it was 8me for me to return to the classroom. The students always keep me fresh and laughing! Thank you to all the men of the parish who par8cipated in our Evening Talk for Catholic Men this Saturday evening! I m grateful to our parish Finance Council. We were able to meet this past week and access various issues rela8ng to the parish and to our forthcoming capital campaign. Everyone is very excited about our future together! Please note that our next parish Town Hall mee8ng is Wednesday, February 20, at 1:00 PM and 6:30 PM. Speaking about our finances, I m happy to announce that Jennifer Chapman has been hired as our new Parish Bookkeeper. Jennifer is degreed in accoun8ng and has vast experience in non-profit accoun8ng. For the past eleven years, she has worked for a Chris8an organiza8on in the greater Charlo\e-area. We are very blessed to have her on our staff. Welcome, Jennifer! This Sunday, several children will be par8cipa8ng in a First Reconcilia8on Retreat and will be making their first Confession. Please say a prayer for these li\le ones! More updates next week.
