The Leadership Journey TLJ Leader Self Assessment TLJ Leader s name: Date: Our goal for The Leadership Journey is to provide local church- based leadership in three areas: Heart (being: character & values) Head (knowing: understanding & attitudes) Hands (doing: action & skills) Over the years, leaders have discovered that godly character is critical to effective ministry for Christ. TLJ Leaders function as shepherd leaders who are leading others in the ministry. As no one is perfect and everyone has weaknesses and flaws as well as strengths, this assessment is to help us get an overall picture of where the leader is and where he or she needs to develop in character. Instructions Each of the qualities listed below is divided into three sections. Each section is divided into three degrees and numbered accordingly from 1 to 9. Please circle the number which best describes you. Your honest opinion is appreciated. HEART The individual demonstrates a heart for God, a heart for others, and heart to embrace themselves. This competency is assessed through the following questions: 1. Do you enjoy a vital spiritual life? Is your walk with God vital and maturing such that you are longing for God s presence? Is there evidence of personal holiness, obedience and surrender? Superficial or struggling relationship with God Genuine, but static relationship with God Enjoy a vital & intimate relationship with God 2. Have you been a Christian for a while? Are you a recent convert? Are you a new Christian who constantly struggles with pride and conceit? Christian 5 years or less Christian 6-10 years Christian more than 10 years 3.
