Visit Iraq

Finally Iraq was under straight persian control which displaced a lot of the population with arabs. History of Iraq Iraq was defined in 1920 as mandatory Iraq. But before it was Iraq it was known as mesopotamia. It was named al-iraq in the 6th century. Mesopotamia saw most of its civilization emerge during the bronze age and the iron age. After the fall of Neo-babylonian empire mesopotamia fell under the control of the persians and the greeks. After that a lot of other territories and empires have been claimed and lost.

Possibly the oldest civilization on earth with advanced writing (cuneiform writing on clay tablets). The first culture to build a modern day city for example they developement of street, sewer systems and multi level buildings.

Culture of Iraq Iraq is a muslim nation with arabic and kurdish as the country's official languages They celebrate islamic holidays. Other holidays include the Newroz the Iraqi army holiday. There weekends include friday and saturday other than americans saturday and sunday. Iraqi army day

Problems with Iraq today The problems with Iraq today is the problem The Iraqi government faces with Isis. Constant war and death with loses of American and Iraqi lives. Deaths to the millions. Since 2003 there has been over a million deaths.

Entertainment of Iraq The famous old Al-safafeer market one of the oldest markets in the city of baghdad known for famous copper collectibles and exhibits.

Entertainment of Iraq The national theatre of Iraq just re opened in 2009 with built in reinforced walls just in case of terrorist attacks.

Entertainment Football (soccer) is the most popular sport in Iraq. They were able to win the Asian cup in 2007

Entertainment Cuisines Which Include baba ghanoush famous Iraqi appetizer. They have many more but this one is one of the most popular in the country.

Entertainment Music is important to Iraqis from creating the oldest guitar to adding the 5th string to the lute. Music proves to be a big part of the country's culture.
