My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior. Luke 1:46 Dear Fellow Advent Pilgrims, I pray the words of May expressed in Luke are reflected in each of our lives. I pray we each have and make the time, opportunity, and will to reflect on our lives in light of the Christ child and all that He taught and brought us. Even one day s prayerful reflection is better than none. Unfortunately, our December 16 th Gathering conflicts with Rev. John Clifford s annual Caregivers Concert at FUMC Round Rock, so he will not be able to participate in our usual December collaboration. So I plan to share again The Legend of the Christmas Prayer by Brian Morgan. The story includes 12 great gifts the man prays for his friends to receive. We will do some different prayer responses to each one. Come and be reminded of these important healing. Come and stay for the fellowship meal. May blessings of Christmas peace and joy, hope and goodwill, bring grace and love to each of you and to all the world. Ann Hagmann, SD
From our Lay Director, Crystal Jackson: Here it is, December and almost the end of 2018. As I look back on 2018, I can say that I have been blessed in many ways. God is incredible! As we reach the end of the year, look back and see if you can see where God has blessed you this year. On December 16th, at First UMC, we will be having our Emmaus Gathering. We will be voting on the Leadership for 2019, and there are still some spots open and available if you feel led to be a part of an awesome team. The following is open: MUSIC LEADER, AGAPE, BOARD REP, and THE NEWSLETTER. Also, there are several months that are available to sign up for Fourth Day Speakers: May, June, August, September, and October are open. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and thank you for allowing me to be your Lay Director for the past two years. I loved every minute of it. DeColores!
