PRESIDENT S MESSAGE I want to thank everyone for the great turnout and participation at our auction last meeting. It was a fantastic evening of bidding and social fun. I hope all of you enjoyed yourselves. I do need to apologize, though. With all the excitement, I forgot to tell all of you about the field trip to Saddle Mountain on the 27th. I did have Marcia send out emails right after the meeting. Pam, Pat, Tabatha, Ron and I did make it to the digs and have found some nice wood to show for it. I will be more diligent next time. Next meeting, our Tom Prang will be showing us what he saw on his trip to Denver. I will be at the shop Saturday the 3rd and the 10th from 10:00am till 3:00pm if anyone needs to work on their projects. Till then, keep cabbing and working on your projects. Acting President Kirk Holman Nason Creek Fund Raiser Our next fund raiser is happening this November 9-12 when the Ginkgo club supplies free coffee and goodies to the travelers on Highway 2 at the Nason Creek Rest Area. David is working up the list of personnel to man the four day event. We will need home baked cookies if you can supply a batch or two. Also, we re hoping to get some doughnuts from Glaze and maybe buy cookies from other sources. Don t make cookies too large. Call David at 509-860-0988 or Marcia at 509-860-7556 for questions or to drop off cookies at 1255 1st St. SE, East Wenatchee before Friday noon on Nov. 9th. Thanks for your help! Marcia and I spent a day rock hounding in the Yakima River Canyon where we found a few agates on the gravel bars and a few petrified wood chips on the canyon sides. FUN! Have never seen such an abundance of deer sign! No deer, though. We used Marcia s America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass and saved 1/2 of the camp fee! It s a senior pass, one time purchase and well worth it if you visit these places and especially if you camp. David Earhart
