Cover image: God bestowed upon Christ the nations of the world as His special possession and dominion. "All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me." (Matthew 28:18) All Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that is coming! Mark 11.9,10 Morning Prayer Lord, open our lips, And our mouth shall proclaim your praise. O God, make speed to save us. O Lord, make haste to help us. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen. Alleluia! Processional Hymn: 97 Jesus Came, the Heavens Adoring (Tantum Ergo St. Thomas) The Invitatory Venite (spoken) God rules over all the earth: O come, let us worship. Psalm 95.1 7 Come, let us sing to the Lord; * let us shout for joy to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving * and raise a loud shout to him with psalms. 1

Last Sunday of Pentecost Vol. 120, No. 49 Sunday November 25, 2018 For the Lord is a great God, * and a great king above all gods. In his hand are the caverns of the earth, * and the heights of the hills are his also. The sea is his for he made it, * and his hands have moulded the dry land. Come, let us bow down, and bend the knee, * and kneel before the Lord our maker. For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand. * Oh, that today you would hearken to his voice! Jubilate Psalm 100 ( sung 3 times ) The Proclamation of the Word Jubilate, everybody, serve the Lord in all your ways, and come before his presence singing: enter now his courts with praise. For the Lord our God is gracious and his mercy everlasting. Jubilate, jubilate, jubilate, Deo! The First Reading A READING FROM THE BOOK OF DANIEL Patricia V. Daniel 7:9-10, 13-14 As I watched, thrones were set in place, and an Ancient One took his throne, his clothing was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames, and its wheels were burning fire. A stream of fire issued and flowed out from his presence. A thousand thousands served him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood attending him. The court sat in judgment, and the books were opened. As I watched in the night visions, I saw one like a human being coming with the clouds of heaven. And he came to the Ancient One and was presented before him. To him was given dominion and glory and kingship, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him. 2

Last Sunday of Pentecost Vol.120, No.49 Sunday November 25, 2018 His dominion is an everlasting dominion that shall not pass away, and his kingship is one that shall never be destroyed. Reader Listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches. (Rev 2:7) Thanks be to God. Psalm 93 The LORD is king, he is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed, he is girded with strength. He has established the world; it shall never be moved; Your throne is established from of old; you are from everlasting. The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their roaring. More majestic than the thunders of mighty waters, more majestic than the waves of the sea, majestic on high is the LORD! Your decrees are very sure; holiness befits your house, O LORD, forevermore. All Blessed are you, LORD GOD, king of the universe; in awe and wonder we bow before the mystery of your power and might, for you are LORD for ever and ever. Amen. The Second Reading REVELATION 1:4B-8 Dawn A READING FROM THE REVELATION TO JOHN Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and freed us from our sins by his blood, and made us to be a kingdom, priests serving his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. Look! He is coming with the clouds; every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and on his account all the tribes of the earth will wail. So it is to be. Amen. I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty. Reader Listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches. (Rev 2:7) All Thanks be to God. Gradual Hymn: 491 The Head That Once Was Crowned (St. Magnus) 3

Last Sunday of Pentecost Vol. 120, No. 49 Sunday November 25, 2018 The Gospel Reading JOHN 18:33-37 Celebrant The Lord be with you. And also with you. THE HOLY GOSPEL OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST ACCORDING TO JOHN Glory to you, Lord Jesus Christ Then Pilate entered the headquarters again, summoned Jesus, and asked him, Are you the King of the Jews? Jesus answered, Do you ask this on your own, or did others tell you about me? Pilate replied, I am not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests have handed you over to me. What have you done? Jesus answered, My kingdom is not from this world. If my kingdom were from this world, my followers would be fighting to keep me from being handed over to the Jews. But as it is, my kingdom is not from here. Pilate asked him, So you are a king? Jesus answered, You say that I am a king. For this I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice. Celebrant And this is the Gospel of Christ. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. Sermon: Reverend Colin McFarland Affirmation of Faith: Hear, O Israel Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first and the great commandment. The second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these. 4
