(Joel 2:31) A Sign in the Sun A solar eclipse passed all the way across the USA on August 21, 2017. This is first time it has passed across America, the world s super power, since 1918. And it is happening again in 7 years on April 8, 2024. The date in 2024 just happens to be on Passover in the land of Israel.

It is very intriguing that the Prophet Joel said there will be blood moons before the great and dreadful day of the Lord. The 3 tetrads shown starting in 1949 and ending in 2015 are remarkably rare. The last tetrad before them happened nearly 500 years ago and the next one won t happen for 500 years into the future.

Interpretation A virgin conceived in Israel and a child was born 2017 years ago. She gave birth to a Son who is King of kings. 12 stars represent the 12 tribes & 12 Apostles. Her child (the Son) ascended to God s throne. There are 2 Greek words used for child in verse 5. One is singular and the other plural. The 2 nd time may mean the Rapture of the church. A remnant in Israel will flee to the desert for 1260 days (3.5 years). Remember in the past before astrology was corrupted, the constellations told the Gospel story. For instance, the Rabbis knew the month of the year by watching one of the 12 major constellations coming up over the horizon just before dawn. (see Gen. 1:14; Job 9:9; 38:31-32). God will refine a 1/3 remnant of Israel so they will accept Christ the Son as their Messiah In the whole land, declares the LORD one-third will be left in it. This third I will bring into the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on my name I will say, They are my people (Zech. 13:7-9). Earthquakes An 8.1 earthquake hit the state of Oavaca in Mexico on Sept. 8 and so far the death count has risen to 90. Reuters, 9/10/17. Yellowstone Volcano: Record earthquake levels at super volcano sparking fears it will BLOW. As of August 30, there have been 2357 quakes since June. The strongest registered 4.4 magnitude. Jesus said When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near. (Luke 21:28) Rosh Hashanah Yom Teruah Sept. 21-22 Sundown Yom Kippur Sept. 23-29 It is interesting that the Sign of the Woman described in Rev. 12 appears in the sky at sundown on Sept. 22. Sundown is when the Jewish day begins. Of course the sun goes below the Horizon and allows the trailing stars to be visible. The vicinity near Israel is the only place on earth where it can be seen. Rosh Hashanah ends at sundown on the 22 nd and Yom Kippur begins at sundown on the 22 nd. So Rosh Hashanah ends, Yom Kippur begins and the Sign of the Woman all happen at the same time. There has been much debate among Bible prophecy scholars about what this really means. If Sept. 23 rd comes and goes without incident, it must at least be a warning sign saying Hazardous Road Ahead. Rosh Hashanah means head of the year or New Year. Yom Teruah means day of trumpets or raising a noise. Both of these holidays occur at the same time. While the temple was still standing in Jerusalem, shofars (hollowed rams horns) were sounded in a series of 99 blows. Then a silver trumpet was blown on the 100 th time as the last trumpet. Yom Kippur means day of atonement. This is a time of recalling and repenting of sins for the Israelites. According to Jewish tradition, they fast for 25 hours on the last day and repent of their sins from the past year.
Taken as a whole, these events surely are not a coincidence. For some reason, the world seems to be perplexed in our times. These Signs seem to be speaking to us. Is this one last warning so we will be ready for whatever comes our way in the near future? To those who know Jesus as Savior and Lord, God did not appoint us to suffer His wrath. The Scripture tells us not to be taken by surprise but to be alert. To those who have not accepted God s free gift of eternal life that is available because Christ died to pay the penalty of our sins, call on Him now don t delay. "for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, Peace and safety, destruction will come on them suddenly...and they will not escape. But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief." (1 Thes. 5:2-4). "For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ... Therefore encourage one another and build each other up..." (1 Thes. 5:9-11). Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. (Rom. 10:13).
