Four Parish Catholic Family St. Mary, Marion; St. Anthony, Tigerton; St. Mary, Leopolis; Holy Family-St. William, Wittenberg Pilgrimage Report: The trip started with Mass in Marion, due to a bus issue, but once that was resolved we were on our way to a beautifully blessed day with plenty of sunshine and awe at the amazing spiritual sights in store for us. Thank you to everyone who supported the fundraisers and donated to the pilgrimage. We truly enjoyed this and look forward to doing this again some day in the near future. We also hope more of you are able to join us then next time. We prayed for all of you! Don t Miss out on Father s Day! A special prayer and blessing for All of our Father s. And the families can help make this a truly blessed day for Dad. Come and see what Fr. José has in store for the Father s! Stay Tuned Mass times may be changing early this year due to our parish un-linkage. Please see next weeks bulletin for more details. WHY DO WE DO THAT? - CATHOLIC TRADITIONS EXPLAINED Don t forget to come to the annual parish picnic. Held at Leopolis on June 26th. Immediately following the 10:30 am Mass. Rain or Shine Come, Question: My fiancée and I are planning our wedding for next year. We still have to attend classes and meet with a priest. What should we expect from the classes? Does the priest test us to see if we are ready to be married? Answer: The classes are not a "how to" course, but provide information and encouragement as you discuss how you will live your married life. Open and honest dialogue, as well as shared values, can make a big difference in a marriage. This preparation is designed to encourage couples to discuss the basic fundamentals of relationship within the context of marriage: communication, finance, sexuality, spirituality, and values and goals. The married couples in these programs often share their own experience and information as a guide and example. The priest may give some spiritual insights on how living the sacrament of marriage differs from the legal understanding of marriage. He is not there to test you, but rather to help you be certain that you and your future spouse are wellinformed and prepared to take on the responsibilities and commitment of marriage. Eat, Enjoy!! The pastor can proceed to assist at a marriage after such norms have been diligently observed. Since marriage is not a private possession of the two parties but a matter of public interest, both ecclesial and secular societies have traditionally enacted legislation concerning basic requirements for marriage, aimed at assuring they will not enter into a a relationship detrimental to themselves, possible children, or the community.
