The Holy Spirit Quenching?

We (believers) are the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit.
In the Garden of Eden God dwelt with his people. In the Tabernacle God dwelt among his people.
Later in the Temple God again dwelt among his people.
Now He no longer dwells with or among His people, but He dwells IN us

No Partial Indwelling You have all of the Holy Spirit or you don t have Him at all.
When my pig (old nature) wallows in the slime pit of sin I drag the Holy Spirit through there with me.

To be filled or controlled by the Spirit is a command and as such is expected to be obeyed. That takes a deliberate act of my will responding in obedience to
the Spirit of God. The control of the Holy Spirit is not automatic, simply because we are saved. Nor does it come by fasting, praying, pleading, etc.
We do not fill ourselves with the Spirit. As we make a conscience decision to do His will, God fills us or controls us with His Spirit.
Grieving The Spirit And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30
Quenching the Spirit Quench not the Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 5:19 We treat Him with ignortion (that s a made-up Gene-ism )

Definition A Spiritual Gift is the ability and/or sensitivity in ministry above and beyond that which is common to all of us.
The Gifts Ministry (Serving) Romans 12:7 or Helps 1 Corinthians 12:2
Definition Ministry of caring for poor, sick and needy, and most any service in the church. Possibly a deacon.
Examples Acts 6:1 6 Deacons were chosen Romans 16:12 Women commended for their hard work Philippians 4:3 women contended at Paul s side
Mercy Romans 12:8 Definition - Deeds of kindness, spontaneous and voluntary, cheerfully done for others in general. 1 Corinthians 16:15-18 2 Timothy 1:16-18
Word of Wisdom 1 Corinthians 12:8 Definition - Ability to give wise counsel on personal and/or spiritual matters, having insight into the true nature of things, and always in agreement with the Word of God.
Examples James 3:7 Wisdom from above 1 Corinthians 6:1 5 - is nobody among you wise enough
Word of Knowledge (Teaching) Romans 12:7 Teaching 1 Corinthians 12:8 Word of knowledge 1 Corinthians 12:28 - Teachers
Definition - Ability to speak with knowledge of the Word and teach concerning the truth of God and duties of men. The ability to pass on simply and understandably the Word of God. Can be public or private ministry.
Example Acts 18:26 expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.
Faith 1 Corinthians 12:9 & 13:2 Definition - Special wonder working faith which expects and sees great things take place.

Healing 1 Corinthians 12:9 & 28 Definition The power to heal sickness and diseases by speaking, touching, or less.

Notice The gift of healing has nothing to do with the faith of the person being healed. James 5:15 Is not the Spiritual Gift.
Miracles 1 Corinthians 12:10 Definition - Works of supernatural origin and character such as cannot be produced by natural agents or means.
Examples Acts 9:40 Peter raised Tabitha from the dead. Acts 20 Eutychus fell three stories and died. Paul restored him to life.
