A. Threshing wheat B. Harvesting grapes C. Keeping sheep D. Making a sacrifice to the Lord Answer: A (See Judges 6:11.) Wonderful Things And we all hear these people speaking in our own languages about the wonderful things God has done! ~Acts 2:11~ Sometimes No, I take that back. Often, we too easily focus on the negative the things we need to do and the things we should not have done, the things others need to do and the things they should not have done The other day I was in a conversation with someone (to remain nameless, but if she reads it she ll know I m talking about her) and she asked me how I was doing. I began talking about some difficulties I was having, and as I talked things seemed to spiral down. She noticed, and thankfully she redirected me by pointing me to some things that I truly celebrate in my life and letting me share about those. This not only turned our conversation, but my mood as well. Yet what I really began to notice was that my eyes where suddenly taken off of myself and others and the situations of life, and my focus was being drawn toward God. I began to realize what God has been doing, and the good that is happening all around me. I began to tell about the wonderful things God has done. As we travel into Pentecost and the season beyond, it is my hope that we will be able to celebrate the wonderful things God has done and is doing. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit we will be traveling through the book of Acts beginning with giving of the Holy Spirit, and then listening to some Spirit filled stories from the likes of Peter, Stephen, Phillip, Paul and Ananias. We ll even be hearing from the first church conference yes, the Spirit can move in a conference. There are more details inside this newsletter. I am truly looking forward to this journey in Acts together with you. We will see some wonderful things God did in the new born Church, and as we do, I imagine we ll begin to see the wonderful things God is still doing. Come share in the wonderful things with us. In the Spirit of Love, Pastor Damon

Open Our Doors Lord Webster defines a Christian as one who relates to Jesus Christ or the religion based on His teachings; treating other people in a kind and generous way. Further definitions: a follower of Jesus, a disciple. Main Street mission is to be disciples. Now that we have been given abundance in all things in the study of 1 Peter, it is time for us to move forward in discipleship. What is discipleship? It requires us to love God above all else. It requires us to grow in His love and to be obedient to His teachings. Finally, it requires us to help others and lead them to Christ. Helping others is so much more than simply feeding and clothing them. Yes, those things are important, but it is vital that we feed their hungry souls. It is our job, our responsibility, our covenant with God to be an example to the lost, to take their hand and show them the love of Jesus by example. Sometimes we get lost too and need to take each other s hands in love. Our doors must be open to all, both the physical church doors and our heart doors. We are called to not stereotype or pick and choose who may enter our doors. We are all sinners after all. Yes, we try to compartmentalize our sins thinking some are worse than others, but in God s eyes, sin is sin! There are people who have stolen. I suppose Matthew the tax collector could be in that category; the thief on the cross that Jesus told, Today you will be in Paradise and Saul a murderer who became Paul and saved the Gentiles through the Grace of God. Conversely, Mary Magdalene has received a bad rap being called a prostitute by many through the years. There is no evidence of this in the Bible. So you see, we even jump to conclusions. Would you have been reluctant to let these people in your home? your church? your life? Hebrews 13:2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. 1 Peter 2:21 For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His Steps. Matthew 5:16 Let your light shine before men in such a way, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father, who is in heaven. Oh Dearest Father, Let the light shine in our church. Open our doors to the lost. Help us to love them and to bring them to your altar. I speak not only for myself who was once lost, but for all of us that were lost and you have saved us. Empower us to encircle the thieves, the prisoners, the lonely, the depressed, the addicts, whatever the labels are that we put on others. In the end, we are all the same in your eyes. You do not show partiality, you show forgiveness and love. You are love. Thank you for forgiving my sins Lord. Lead our church to be the disciples that you want us to be Father. I pray in the name of your Blessed Son, Jesus Christ. Amen. Judybeth
