The AS 424 defines a high level of technical performance due to the combined requirements regarding temperature, flexibility and vibration-resistance. The hose assemblies are typically used to transport and distribute bleed air which is taken from the compressor stage of the main engine of the aircraft. In civil aircrafts, bleed air's primary use is to provide pressure for the aircraft cabin by supplying air to the environmental control system. Additionally, bleed air is used to keep critical parts of the aircraft (such as the wing leading edges) ice-free. Beside that bleed air can be used for the supply of pneumatic actuators, air-driven motors and for the pressurization of hydraulic reservoirs. p Pressure-range 38-38 bar (dependent on hose-diameter) p High operation temperatures up to 430 C in pneumatic systems, temperature excursions up to. 60 C for Class B and N p High flexibility and vibration resistance at operation temperature 430 C and medium pressure The hose assemblies are produced with high sophisticated, special production processes acc. to PRI/NADCAP-requirements with tuned, narrow part tolerances. This guarantees a low scatter band for the technical performance of the metal hose assemblies for use in the field. All relevant technical parameters are measured, checked and recorded during production.
