Papal Blessing: Please allow at least 6 months for Papal Blessing to arrive after the request has been made. In the gospel of today, Jesus says to the parents of the girl they thought had died. Just have faith. In today s world with all the violence and tragedy, just have faith might seem trite and simplistic. But the truth is that if I just have faith, remembering that God is alive and active in our world, I can live in peace and confidence in God s providence. Letting go and letting God might be a bit frightening, but it is also very freeing. I can have faith that though there is evil in the world, that justice is undying. I can have faith when I see good in others, when I see people working to improve the lives of others who may feel forgotten. In those times and places, I can have faith that God is with all of us. God also has faith in you. Empowered with the gift of faith, and using the gifts you have been given, is to share the presence of God. It is one thing to have faith. Another thing.. to use it!!! Intentions of Parishioners 8:30 P.M. ł Gesolina Vit by Annette & Richard Gregorini Following Pope Francis's encyclical, Laudato Si, addressing our environment, we are all challenged to work toward creating a climate of change in our world. The United Nations climate change negations (COP21) which will be held in Paris in December 2015, will be a key moment in determining the future of our planet and its people. It will be a time when world leaders can make a real commitment to reduce carbon emissions and diminish the impact on our climate. Catholic organizations from around the world will be making the pilgrimage to Paris to compel world leaders to agree on a binding treaty at these negotiations. We are all called to stewardship of our planet,so please keep those working with D&P throughout the world in your prayers over the summer months as they labour for justice for our brothers and sisters in developing countries. June 27 a delegation of D&P members from Canada, among then is Rose Marie Valade from Our Lady of Good Council Parish, are heading to Ethiopia, so please pray for them. Pope Francis reminds us of our duty to care for creation when he spoke the following during his visit to the Philippines in January 2015. " As stewards of God's creation, we are called to make the earth a beautiful garden for the human family. When we destroy our forests, ravage our soil, and pollute our seas, we betray our noble calling". June 21, 2015 $3,532.65 Thank you for your continued generosity!

Thirteenth Week of Ordinary Time On the Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time we hear the wonderful story of the healing of Jairus' daughter. In the middle of that story is the beautiful story of the healing of the woman with a hemorrhage. He said to her, 'Daughter, your faith has saved you. Go in peace and be cured of your affliction.' Jesus tells Jairus, Do not be afraid; just have faith. When the girl was healed the people were utterly astounded. Monday is the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, with its own special readings. Friday is the Feast of Saint Thomas, Apostle. Matthew's Gospel follows Jesus on his journeys, constantly teaching his disciples about faithfulness. He challenges his disciples on what it means to follow him. He calms a violent storm at sea and heals two men possessed by demons -- demons who recognize Jesus as the Son of God. When he is criticized for telling a paralytic his sins were forgiven, Jesus says, Which is easier, to say, Your sins are forgiven, or to say, Rise and walk? He then healed the paralytic. On Friday, Jesus does something extraordinary - he invites the reviled tax collector, Matthew, to be one of his followers. Then he indicates that the old ways of relating to God are gone - that he I is the new way, the new wineskin. On the Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time we read that Jesus was not able to work miracles in his home town. In their eyes, he was just the person they'd seen grow up. This distressed him and he couldn't work many miracles at home.
