The Sharing Tree came into being in 1984, when the church s Community Life Committee launched a Christmas campaign to aid eight families with 27 children who perhaps needed to have the feelings of love and sharing from others made more real to them. The committee, identified these families and erected a tree with the families names on it, and which parishioners then took and responded to. The result: 330 gifts and $600 in cash. This year we have children s and adult s names from 13 different agencies who are requesting our help. Please select a tag(s) from the tree & purchase a gift for that individual size and wishes are listed. It will be noted on the tag if the agency wants the gifts wrapped. Please affix the tag or a facsimile SECURELY to each gift. The gifts must be brought to church NO LATER THAN 12:30 ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 10. If you have any questions, please contact the parish office (ext. 10) or Cathy Vollmer at cathy.vollmer@gmail.com.

Good Shepherd sessions resume on Monday, November 27 th. We look forward to seeing everyone back in the atria this week. ART & ENVIRONMENT Creating an environment that is pleasant, welcoming and reflective of our beautiful liturgical seasons is important. If interested, call Barb Stokes and help us be prepared for change! JOIN THE SJN CONSOLATION MINISTRY! Blessed are they who mourn, and blessed are those who comfort them in their pain. The SJN Consolation Ministry attends viewings to meet families who have lost a loved one and lead a prayer service with them. We also provide Eucharistic ministers, servers and readers at funeral Masses. If you would like to join the list of folks who receive word when the need arises (members volunteer to help when they are available; no regular time commitment involved), contact Victoria at vsheridan68@gmail.com or 412-335-3349 (cell). SPIRITUAL CHRIST, KING OF ALL On this, the final Sunday of the liturgical year, we celebrate the solemnity of Christ the King. By concluding the year with this feast we are proclaiming our faith that Jesus Christ is the one and only king over all seasons, all peoples, and all of creation. At the end of time as we know it, Christ s work of restoring all things to unity and harmony with their Creator God will be completed. This Sunday, when we claim Christ as both our Shepherd and our King, we recognize our own calling to participate in Christ s saving work by caring for those whom Jesus calls the least ones (Matthew 25:45).
