NOMINEE: The Very Rev. Kevin Dixon Biography The Very Reverend Kevin Dixon Kevin Dixon is dean of the Diocese of Huron and rector of St. Paul s Cathedral in London, Ontario. Previously, he has served parishes in the Diocese of New Westminster (St. Mary s Kerrisdale, 1997-2010), and the Diocese of Huron (St. John the Evangelist, Leamington, 1991-1997; Parish of the Bruce Peninsula, 1987-1991). He has been a member of Diocesan Council in both dioceses. Kevin has served as a member of General Synod and Provincial Synod, and as prolocutor of the Ecclesiastical Province of British Columbia and Yukon. He was a member of the PWRDF 50 th Anniversary Committee and served as chairperson of the fundraising sub-committee. As an executive member of the Board of Directors of Fundación Cristosal, Kevin is actively engaged in supporting the social development work of the Anglican Church in El Salvador, especially with respect to human rights. In 2009, Kevin served as an official observer at El Salvador s presidential election. Kevin was a founding member of the From Grief to Action Society in British Columbia, a network of support and advocacy among those affected by drug use in their families, and he takes great satisfaction in this society s contribution toward establishing The Crossing, an adolescent residential treatment centre in Keremeos, BC. Kevin has been actively involved in stewardship education and financial development, especially as longstanding chairperson of the Diocese of New Westminster s Stewardship Development Committee and more recently as a member of the Diocese of Huron s Financial Development Committee. During his tenure as rector at St. Mary s Kerrisdale, he successfully led the parish to complete a $1.2 million capital campaign to enhance community outreach, and led St. Mary s to become a member of the Compass Rose Society. NOMINEE: The Ven. Harry Huskins #034-01-11-03

NOMINEE: The Rev. Edmund Laldin Biographical Sketch of Captain, the Rev d Edmund Laldin I was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan. I hold B. Comm. (double major in Accounting and Business Management), and Master of Divinity. At present, I am a Candidate for D. Min in Relational Preaching and Contextual Liturgy. I am also a Chaplain in Canadian Reserve Forces. As a priest, I have, in all incumbencies, enabled the parishes to discover their uniqueness and to practice the faith which they proclaim. To this end, I envisioned and led Ecumenical Missions (Anglican, Roman Catholic, United Church, Salvation Army, and Pentecostal), established emergency services and articulated social gospel through liturgy and preaching. I was member of two Synods of the Province of Canada and have been Inter Faith Dialogue and Education Coordinator since 2006. In this role, I have held Educational Sessions with Provincial Councils on Pluralism, Inter Faith Issues and Pastoral Ministry in Inter Faith Environment. At the National Church level, I was a member of PWRDF committee, provided leadership in the incorporation process and was the first Treasurer of the Fund. In that role, I chaired Budget Review Task Force and developed Investment Policies. I also served on the Board of the Anglican Foundation. In 2008, I was appointed on General Synod s Task Force on Primacy.

NOMINEE: The Ven. Michael Pollesel I'd like to nominate Michael Pollesel to the alternate clergy position for the Anglican Consultative Council to fill out the term of Peter Elliott. Michael obtained his Masters of Divinity from Trinity College, University of Toronto and his Doctor of Ministry from Colgate Rochester Crozier Divinity School. Ordained in the Diocese of Toronto in 1979, he spent several years as a Field Education supervisor (for Trinity, Wycliffe, and the Church Army). As a parish priest, he began his ministry in the Diocese of Toronto and there he formed an amalgamated parish (St. Dunstan of Canterbury) in Scarborough, which included selling off, purchasing and building a new facility. After several years, he moved to the Diocese of Ontario as rector of St. Thomas, Belleville. Michael later became diocesan Stewardship Education Coordinator, followed by brief stint as Diocesan Executive Officer. His reputation as a scholar and practitioner of stewardship education is known through the country. He has been General Secretary of the General Synod for almost 6 years now.

NOMINEE: Major, the Rev. Michelle Staples Major, the Rev. Michelle Staples Padre Staples began preparing for ordination at Saint Paul University, Ottawa, in 1992, in the Anglican Studies Program. She completed a Baccalaureate in Theology, a Masters Degree in Systematic Theology, and was ordained as priest in December 1996 where she served for seven years as Parish priest, Post Ordination Training officer, and Canon Ecumenist for the Diocese. She has served two terms as both a member of General synod and Faith, Worship, and Ministry; in addition, she was an active member of the Anglican Roman Catholic Dialogue for almost ten years, completing her term in 2009. At the present time she is a member of both General Synod and CoGS. Upon receiving a call to military chaplaincy, she enrolled in the Canadian Forces in 2003, and now wears the rank of Major. She is currently the Brigade Chaplain at 1 CMBG, having previously served with the Air Force in 14 Wing Greenwood, the Army in Petawawa, and most recently the newly formed Canadian Special Operations Regiment. She has been deployed to both Southwest Asia, where she received the Commanding Officer s Commendation for outstanding service, and Afghanistan, where she was presented with the Chief of Defence Staff s Chief Warrant officer s Coin for outstanding service to the troops. Padre Staples is a person of faith, enjoys time with her family, and is a proud member of the CF, and most especially of the CF Chaplain Branch. Present location: CFB Edmonton

NOMINEE: The Rev. Canon George Sumner Bio: The Rev. Canon Dr. George Sumner is the principal of Wycliffe College, Canada s largest Anglican theological college. After two years of youth ministry work and seminary, he was ordained a priest in 1981 in the Anglican Church of Tanzania where he served as a tutor in a seminary. He served a curacy in an urban parish in Massachusetts, and worked in a total ministry setting in Navajoland in the late 1980 s. After receiving a Ph.D. in systematic theology from Yale, he was a parish priest in a small town until his call in 1999 to Wycliffe, where, in addition to his administrative responsibilities, he has taught mainly in the area of missiology. As principal, he has preached and addressed diocesan synods and clergy conferences throughout Canada. A priest of the diocese of Toronto, he is a canon in the dioceses of Toronto and Saskatchewan. He has written books on inter-religious dialogue, the nature of ordination, and the Book of Daniel; he is on the editorial board of the Anglican Theological Review. George and his wife Stephanie, a social worker, have two children.
