During the retreat there was time for team building, bible study, going over the duties of the council, making a council covenant, hearing about who we think Grace Lutheran is and where Grace Lutheran should be going. We also set goals for the year. One goal that you will see happening soon is a coffee bar/cart. A $2 donation is welcomed for the coffee. Other goals, ideas, actions and work from our retreat will be seen throughout the year and in actions that will be done by the council. Grace Lutheran is one of the recipients of the 2017 Servant of Christ Award! This year, Lutheran Social Services have chosen to acknowledge congregations who have supported the Duluth Center for Changing Lives. In the words of our CEO, Jodi Harpstead, We are so proud of how well the NE MN Synod responded to the call from Bishop Tom Aitken to contribute to the building of the Center for Changing Lives and of the brave few who have signed up to be our first host homes for youth, promising to greatly increase our capacity to serve. Sixty-seven congregations were honored on Friday night at the first Plenary of the NE Synod Assembly at Cragun s Resort in Brainerd. We are very honored and humbled by the great support we have received in our mission to end homelessness in Duluth. A strong partnership foundation has been created and will continue to expand! Blessings to you and yours, and congratulations on this fine achievement!
