Still more, to remain awake. C.S. Lewis Thursday, July 5th 11:30am First Thursdays is for men & women, couples & singles of AARP age. If you have never joined us before, plan to come in July. We enjoy a lunch together (suggested donation of $3.00), pray together and we will have a message from Luke Johnston. P.A.C.A. (Paola Association for Church Action) will be collecting items to provide Care Kits for S.O.S. (Serving Our Students). S.O.S. this year will be on Saturday, July 21st, 9:00 am-1:00 pm at Cottonwood School. The goal is to help students and families prepare for a successful school year. We need your help! Lighthouse Church will be helping to provide shampoo and conditioner for the Care Kits. We need 150 of size 10-12 oz. shampoo and 150 of 10-12 oz. conditioner. We need to have all items collected by Sunday, July 15th. There will be a container by the Office where you may place your items. Thank you! On Friday evening, July 13, Lighthouse Church will become a beacon of hope for these families in our church and community. The parents and/or caregivers of loved ones with special needs (Buddies) are invited to bring both their loved one and his/her siblings to our church from 5:00 8:00pm. We will team up a volunteer with each Buddy, feed all of them pizza for dinner (yes, siblings too), have a brief devotion/prayer, and then encourage them to explore several types of rooms in the building (including a Quiet Room for people who are sensitive to sight and sound). There is no cost for this evening, and nursery / childcare will be provided for children up to three years old. Since Anchor Watch is still very new and we are learning as we go, we will be limited to the first 20 Buddies who sign up. You may sign up your Buddy (and siblings) at the Welcome Table on Sunday morning, call the church or email: encompass@paolalighthouse.com. Page 4 The Church Office will be closed on Wednesday, July 4th. Stay safe!
