Today s scripture reading tells us of a rising star that leads the magi to a growing child who is to become the king and messiah to deliver his weary people. But in Herod s jealous heart, there is room for only one king in the land. Holy Communion is served to all who believe in the presence of Christ in the bread and wine given to us for the forgiveness of sins. Grape juice and gluten-free wafers are available. Annex of the SHARING CENTER for children s clothing housed at the Presbyterian Church is low on inventory. They need young children sizes boys and girls winter clothing, sizes 10/12. Any contributions are welcome. You can drop off your contributions at the sharing center Tuesdays and Wednesday from 10am-1pm. Contact the Sharing Center at (507) 832-8267 if those times don t work for you. BEFRIENDERS MINISTRY: Need a friend? Someone to listen? Just a visit would be nice? We are blessed in our congregation to have a group of volunteers called Befrienders. These individuals are good listeners, easy to talk to, willing to pray, lend a hand, or visit. They do not take the place of your pastor, but broaden the reach of pastoral care in our congregation. Contact the office or one of the pastors to get connected with a Befriender. SEWING DAYS January 15th & January 22nd at 9:00 am. Come to the Fellowship Hall to make quilts, baby care kits, fabric kits, personal care kits, and school kits for missions. MEALS ON WHEELS PROGRAM is looking for volunteer meal delivery drivers for the months of January and February. Meals on Wheels delivers over 40 meals to members of our community five days a week. Meals leave our site at the Community Center at 11:00am. The delivery route takes approximately an hour to deliver. Please call Kelly Kleven, site manager, at 831-6161 if you are able to deliver meals during the months of January and February. Did you know that you can see sermons on the ALC WEBSITE? The first early bird deadline is February 1st! There are many different camp options for your child and your family! Visit www.shetek.org for more information or talk to Melanie! 2019 Mission Trip: NEW MISSION MEETING!! There has been a huge response from the youth of this church, wanting to be a part of the 2019 Mission Trip. The Due Date for FINAL Sign-Ups is Wednesday, January 9th at 8pm. Trip Deposits ($200) and Permission Slips will need to be turned in that day. EVENTS & FUNDRAISERS: Attention: Every 1st Sunday, the youth will be bringing in homemade cookies or bars as a fundraiser for their 2019 Mission Trip. There will be a freewill offering, please consider supporting the youth! There are a few kids that are needing help with gathering their Mission Deposits ($200). If you would be willing to sponsor a kid to go, please contact Lisa or Wendy. HOT DISHES ARE BACK!! Starting Sunday, January 20th, 2019 Youth Hot Dishes are coming back to ALC. After that you can expect us to be back every 3rd Sunday until June 2019. Thank you for your support. Jr League meets every 1st & 3rd Sunday Evenings from 6:30pm-8:40pm.
