STEWARDSHIP The Finance Committee met on Tuesday to discuss the financial condition of the church. Looking to the future the church will be $15,000 in debt for 2013. We estimate snow removal/lawn care to be approximately $4,000 this year. The church needs about $3,000 weekly to meet General Fund expenses. This doesn t include apportionments, capital improvement (Trustee Fund), memorials, etc. Fund Received Jan Need Jan +/- Budget $9,800 12,000 $-2,200 3 ANNOUNCEMENTS Faith for a Cure Relay for Life team will be working at the Pizza Ranch on Feb 25 from 5-8pm. Faith Crafters and Stitchers All women are invited to bring their craft or sewing projects to church on Friday, March 8 th, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall for a morning of work and fellowship. Breaking the Chains of Modern Day Slavery is an effort to raise the awareness of the terror surrounding the issue of human trafficking. The community is invited to gather on Sunday, March 10 th at 7:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca. A video shall be shown titled Half the Sky. This is based on the best-selling book by Nicholas Kristoff and Sheryl WuDunn. This event is coordinated by the St. John Women of the ELCA, and all in the community are invited to this event. I. CONSULTATION WEEKEND MARCH 1,2,3 The Weekend of March the 1,2,3 rd will be an opportunity for our church to more fully engage in the Healthy Church Initiative a process that we have been involved in since September of 2012. We will have team of three consultants come and interview our staff and members of our congregation to get their input on the direction our church needs to go in the future. This team has reviewed our Self-Study documents which we sent to them in January. This is a seventy four page packet that covers everything from our ten year giving trends, to our interviews with community leaders, to how many parking spaces we have in the parking lot. FRIDAY MARCH 1ST 7:15 p.m. - 8:45 p.m. FOCUS GROUPS: (These will be held for both churches at Faith UMC.) Each group with consist of 7-8 members of the congregation who will be asked to talk about the strengths of our church and the concerns they have for the future. SATURDAY MARCH 2ND 9 a.m. -12 noon HCI TRAINING: (This will be a time for any member for either church to get an overview of the HCI process from the consulting team.) ALL CHURCH MEMBERS ARE INVITED. This meeting will be held at Evangelical UMC. NOON- 1:30 p.m. HCI LEADERSHIP TRAINING: (This training is for the church councils of both churches.) SUNDAY MARCH 3 RD WORSHIP: Consultants will attend worship at the two churches. This will be followed by a lunch with the HCI teams at Evangelical UMC. II.
