This is a busy time for everyone, but this is especially the time of year where the Reformation Lutheran School Board of Education, the principal and vice principal, preschool directors, and teachers start thinking ahead to the 2019-2020 school year. During this time we evaluate three main areas: 1. Our Mission 2. Our Curriculum 3. Our Staff So, I would like to take the next three weeks to say just a bit about each one of those. Our Mission "Educate with academic excellence, equip for Christian living, encourage growth with God's Word." Reformation Lutheran School is an accredited Christian school that includes a preschool, elementary school and middle school. Reformation focuses its research-based curriculum on high academic standards and character development for students from age three through eighth grade. The eternal truths of God s Word are the foundation of our school, its curriculum, and all its activities. Our goal in Christian education is to work collaboratively with each family to provide each child with the maximum development of their God-given spiritual, physical, and mental abilities. We have a small school feel, with big school opportunities! Sports Update Basketball season continues for our Boys A and B teams. Update from Ms. Brennan's Class This past month the two and a half and three-year-old s have been learning about the holiday season. Each morning the children have a goal to tell Miss Brennan what numbers and letters they can nd on the Christmas trees and presents around the classroom. As the children learned about the symbols of Christmas, they helped decorate Christmas trees to put up in the classroom with sequences, jewels and glitter. But most importantly we have focused on what the true meaning of Christmas: The Birth of Jesus. The children have been working very hard practicing their lines and songs for their Christmas program on Sunday. They will be telling the story of the birth of Jesus. We hope you all can make it. That s all for us. We wish you a most wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.
CHRISTMAS IN CLAIREMONT IS NEXT SATURDAY! DECEMBER 15, 6-8PM Join us on this special night to celebrate the Miracle of Christmas! The event will include a live nativity (accompanied by a narrator and choir), children s activities including crafts, storytelling and cookie decorating and complimentary seasonal refreshments like cookies, coffee and cocoa! Everyone is welcome--the event and all activities are free. WEDNESDAY NIGHT WORSHIP AND SOUP SUPPERS AT REFORMATION DURING ADVENT This Advent, as we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus, join us on Wednesday nights in December at 7:00pm (December 5, 12 & 19) for our midweek Advent worship services. We will prepare our hearts for Christmas by asking questions about what it will be like when our Lord comes. Through what God foretold in the Bible, we will nd answers to those questions that will prepare us for celebrating Christmas and lead us to give all glory to God alone for sending his Son into the world to be our Savior! Join us for soup supper fellowships in the gym at 5:30pm and then join us in the church at 7:00pm for the Advent services. Feel free to bring small children in their pajamas. We aim to keep the services to 30-40 minutes, including the time set aside for our traditional favorite Christmas hymns and carols sing-a-long.
Last Friday, November 30, with most of the school away on eld trips, the remaining students celebrated Grinch Day. #RefTechTips This past week, schools across the nation hosted an #hourofcode. Hour of Code is an effort by schools to focus on computer sciences and coding in the classroom. Here at Reformation Mr. Ross hosted an hour of code with the 5-6th graders. Mr. Shawn Bailey even came to talk to the students about the 4 processes of a computer. A big thank you to Mr. Bailey for sharing his knowledge with our students!
